“Will go back again.”

Good hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Room clean. Only fault was an a small area where the carpet became unseamed. Had a good breakfast in both restaurants (upstairs and downstairs).

“Excellent for the price.”

My husband and I went to Lake Tahoe for a friends wedding and picked this hotel based on price and reviews. We worried about noise problems, but it was very quiet. We were in a detached building so part of the quietness might have been lack of neighbors. The room was well decorated and clean. Only complaints are the bed was firm (which my husband said he would prefer to mushy), the shower head seemed calcified so the water didn't spray out as nice as it should of, and the bathtub needed some liquid plumber badly (after a 5 minute shower the water would be about an inch deep). Overall the room was very nice despite the flaws. The hotel staff was great, we always had as much of anything we needed. They allowed a late checkout and also went out of their way to get me equal for my coffee (they only had sweet n low and sugar). The location is excellent, close to plenty of good restaurants and shops. Parking was ok, although it got crowded on the weekend. Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel to the budget conscious traveler. There are definitely nicer hotels in Lake Tahoe, but you will pay at least three times as much per night. For the price this place can't be beat.

“"Needs Attention"”

We loved the "hometown" feel of this property but wish they would work on the "details" that make the difference. The room was comfortable but outdated. (My sister ran out of hot water in the shower.) At midnight there was a compressor running so loudly we couldn't sleep...when we called the front desk they didn't know about it. After a call back we were told the project would stop at 12:30am...which it did... but without much of an apology. The casino is small and intimate but so smoky we couldn't stay there very long (there was a tiny non smoking section but open to the rest of the casino so not much difference) If you signed up for a players card and were over 50 you received a free breakfast which was a full meal in their restaurant. We asked if there was a bar or restaurant with a view of the lake...we were told they do NOT have a view of the lake...the name "Lakeside" is confusing. We really wanted to "like" this small property (loved the employee pictures downstairs!) but too many disappointments.

“convenient”

they let us check in at 9:30am for a 3pm check in since we had arrived so early. That helped us a lot so we could unload our stuff and then go to the snow! Very helpful staff in giving advice on where to go, etc. The breakfast is a steal at $3.99. Would definitely go back there.

Area recommendations
Spooner LAke for free sledding, and for cross country skiing. Charge half day prices for aft, which was all we could do anyway! Nice people, low key, not great athletes on these trails!! Only 12 miles from ther hotel. Many restaurants handy...

“Simple Hotel - Great hotel for smokers traveling with children”

Purposely chose this hotel, as it is only 2 stories high. This was nice, while our room was next to an exit.. the adults could pop out and smoke, while the room was non-smoking for the childrens/everyones benefit. The restaurant seemed a bit pricey for dinner, so we ate elsewhere. The breakfast was decently priced and well portioned.

“Well worth the price”

We stayed there in August, 2010 and could not have been more satisfied. The rooms were large and comfortable. We liked the old school decor. The staff was helpful and the price was right.

“Great Little Hotel”

The Lakeside Inn is more like an upscale motel than a casino-hotel. Small, friendly, & easy to get in & out of. GOOD - free wifi, flat screen, balcony, good in house restaurants, fun little sports book. BAD - cramped dark bathrooms, low flow shower, & low ceilings in the rooms. All in all I'd still rather stay here than anyplace else in Stateline.

“good price-good location-nothing fancy”

first-time visitor to lake tahoe so didn't know what to expect. this hotel is easy to find, has plenty of free parking and the rooms are comfortable and clean but a little worn. small balcony was nice but is not set up for hanging out...probably storage for skis in winter. rooms are in separate buildings from casino so noise was not a factor. lobby and restaurants are subject to secondhand smoke and smell strongly of this. it kept us from eating at the hotel's restaurants. trailhead very close, beautiful walk takes you directly to lake. overall was happy with accomodations.

Area recommendations
zephyr cove is close and offers boat cruises and dining. downtown tahoe is easy to walk around, lots of shops and stores catering to the tourist trade. take the gondola ride...beautiful!

“Quiet and clean”

Our room was average sized, but it was clean and comfortable. A maintenance man was moving a small refrigerator, so my husband asked if we could have it delivered to our room. The maintenance man cleaned it and delivered it within 5-10 minutes. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful. We did have a waitress in the main dining facility that was not very friendly or helpful at breakfast one morning. I left a detailed note for the casino explaining our experience with her. It was quiet in our room, and that is extremely important to us because we want to get a good night of uninterrupted sleep on vacations. We would definitely stay there again.

Area recommendations
We liked the location of the Lakeside Casino and Inn because it was on the edge of the main city, but close enough to the other casinos. The best part was a beautiful and EASY hiking trail that was across the street. The trail was about a mile long one-way and led to the lake! You could conceivably take a towel or two, a small lunch, and spend a few hours at the lake. The hiking trail went through a campground that had bathroom facilities near the lake shore... BEAUTIFUL!!

“Not impressed. Shirks responsibility for its services. Avoid!”

Avoid if possible. This establishment claims to have no management on site if you have a query about service problems. This establishment claims that a service they offer to guests (laundry) is not there responsibility as it is provided by a third party. "If you have a problem sort it out yourself" is not the usual response I expect from a hotel where I am a paying guest.
