This hotel had a 9/10 rating which is so far from the truth. It smelled like a hospital in the 2 rooms we tried, a medicinal smell which, to me, is indicative of trying to hide something. We went down to ask for a different room because the length of our first room stunk and was sporting a crack which was clearly unsuccessfully patched over the bed with chucks of paint and whatever patch they attempted to use hanging over us. The desk clerk says, “Oh gosh, I’m sorry about that. Let me find you a room with a different housekeeper.” I’m like, it’s way beyond housekeeping. We get to the 2nd room and same smell, mirror missing off the wall, something in the bottom of the bathtub, a run away grape on the ground, a/c not cooling etc. Needless to say, I kept my shoes on when walking on the carpet and used a t-shirt as a pillow case just to get through the night and get the heII outta there! Yuck. Never again. We use Hampton Inn frequently and have never had an experience like that. That property desperately needs attention.

No ice on 1st or 2nd floor. 3rd floor has CE machine worked but had black trash in ice. Had to go to 4th floor (we were on 1st) to get clean ice. Bathroom floor was dangerously slick. Took a long line to get hot water in shower, only like warm in sink. Also got tired of having to switch off of CNN every time we turned on TV. Bad choice for a default channel. Marvy & lady at checkout were as gracious & helpful as possible.

The third floor hallway and my first room had a strong musty mildew smell. I found lots of hair and a few stains on my bed sheets when I opened the bed up. In my first room I had two queen beds. The first bed the sheets were already wrinkled & not tightly made like the other - this is the one that had the most hair on it. The first room was also extremely musty smelling. When I moved to my upgraded room at 302 there continued to be hair throughout the room and stains on the sheets. There was also black fuzzy mold in the shower which made it look like it actually hadn’t been clean or sanitized and quite a while. The reason I chose my stay at the Hilton at Hampton Inn was because I expected there to be absolutely zero issues with sanitation or cleanliness. I was pretty disappointed with this aspect of my stay.

The carpet in the hall ways was loose and appeared dirty or old on floor two. Carpet in room needed cleaning. Overall, this inn needs refurbishing. The dining area was not kept clean. Food was left on the floor and tables not cleaned regularly after people left. The food staff was up at the counter talking with others rather than back in the food area taking care of things. I had to walk up to the counter and ask for service. Good staff were more interested in talking with friends than taking care of their job.

Seemed clean but...
We rented 2 rooms for our sons college graduation. The rooms looked clean but had a musty, damp smell to them. We turned on the AC to circulate the air and it improved some. The 2nd room we reserved, the bed sheets smelled really bad. If it had been our room I would have reported it to the office but we didn't know about it until the morning we were checking out. The water pressure was very low (we were on 3rd floor) The breakfast was good. Everyone was very friendly/helpful.

Poor air conditioning, no daily house keeping, no safe in room, poor mattress, and uncomfortable seating in the breakfast area. The food served durning breakfast was nothing special, just adequate. There must be better choices in Carrollton. Next time thru I’ll have to research it instead of taking it for granted and booking the Hampton Inn

The employees were extremely nice and went out of their way to fulfill all of our requests. If you are staying a few days, be sure to get straight with them how often you expect housekeeping and what you'd like them to do. We checked in on a Wednesday and out on a Sunday. The days during the week were quiet with an excellent breakfast daily. On Saturday, some kiddie baseball teams checked in, making sleep Saturday night a tough proposition and ruining breakfast Sunday morning. They destroyed the waffle maker(s) and loudly spilled things everywhere things could be spilled. So watch out if you are staying over a weekend, because there are lots of sports and lots of tournaments.
