First stay at this hotel and although some parts of hotel requiring updating found the bed really comfortable, great shower and the most fantastic welcome from the receptionist who I think was called Inga. Great location and will definitely return.

We enjoyed our time at the hotel. We were a little surprised at the wear of the wood furniture and fading of some of the artwork to be Carnoustie. The sitting room area could use a coffee table so one could sit comfortably with a drink.

Nice room with a great view. The French doors wouldn’t shut properly which resulted in a constant draught. This was fine with the curtains shut. Good, comfortable bed. Tasty breakfast. Pool area was ok. Carnoustie village itself is a bit run down, but has some great restaurants and the beaches round about are fantastic

Thank your for your feedback! Sorry to hear that there was a draft coming from french doors, we are waiting on replacent for some of the french doors and windows in this spring. Hopefully, this will not hold you back for return visit in the future.

Had a lovely DBB here in a deluxe double overlooking the golf course ( which we think is so much nicer than the sea view here ) if coming again I would book food in the Rookery, went there for cocktails and it was a lovely place sit with that view.

Thank you for the review. We do recomed to book meal times to avoid queuing and to ensure that all our guests gets best service we can provide at the busy breakfast. We do hope this will not put you off to return for a future stay with us.

We were checked in on arrival by a friendly receptionist who was professional and helpful. The hotel was spacious with an amazing view of the golf course. The food in the restaurant was very nice. Congratulations to all the staff who worked hard to make our 2 night stay relaxing and enjoyable.

Fabulous hotel let down by a hissing radiator in room 129. Too hot as well. Could not turn radiator down or make it quiet. Wife eventually phoned reception twice at one and two in the morning as she could not sleep with the noise and heat - even with two windows open. We were moved to room 137. Much better but very interrupted night’s sleep. Food and service and swim pool and of course golf course all excellent

Gone down hill
Very clean room. Very uncomfortable bed. I let reception staff know as a courtesy, not a complaint so next visitor didnt have poor nights sleep and was told a load of excuses how I could have remedied it. Sore and tired as I walked away with the receptionist shouting " Hope you have a merry Christmas" inappropriate. This is our 3rd visit this year. I wont be rushing back. As a addon since im revewing. Sauna was hroken . Swim changing rooms tatty, the lockers are broken. And steam room door wont close corrwctly.

Enjoyable but tweeks required
On check in the receptionist declared to my partner and i that my surprise bottle of prosecco and chocolates were already in the room thereby removing the surprise element. Room was very comfortable. Staff at breakfast and behind the bar were excellent. There are no safes in the room which i found very surprising (told i could leave valuables at reception. In 2023, really! We were wakened at 3am one morning with a fire alarm and gathered in the car park. We were allowed to return to our rooms on the say so of the hotel staff with the fire brigade attending. Its difficult to get in the pool as it appears to be used as a pseudo leisure club by the locals as opposed to a hotel exclusive spa. So that was disappointing. Would i stay here again? Yes i would. The hotel is a very acceptable level, the staff are wonderful, the location is excellent. Tweeks required.

Despite living in NE Scotland I had never visited Carnoustie. A chance meeting with a business colleague saw me stay there and I was very impressed by the hotel, staff, golf facilities (amazing) and the food. Highly recommend. I will be going back

Lovely location, cosy bar/lounge. Most staff were very engaging and pleasant, one or two of the younger staff need to smile and be positive, one young male in the bar area looked a little untidy and a bit bored. Room was very spacious, very comfortable bed, good heating control (we like it cold at night). Good sized bathroom and shower was excellent. Bathroom floor could have been cleaned better, especially in the corners where dirt/dust had gathered. Great car park facilities, simple &speedy check in.
