“Very Comfortable”

Stayed in the hotel late November, nice and warm. Clean, large comfortable room old fashioned but that is the hotel. if you want new and modern this is not for you - but then you would'nt be in the centre of Carcassonne.

Superb location opposite train station and Midi Canal, near restaurants, shops and town. However, the hotel was old, the fitouts and furnishings being from the 1950s. Room & bathroom were large and adequately serviced. The toilet had to be used side-saddle due to the lack of room. It was extremely noisy on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights till about 2 a.m. due to the nightclub two doors down from the hotel on the canal side. All staff spoke English, and most of them were helpful, but they didn't have local maps, which had to be obtained from the information center down the road. The best restaurant was "Le Bistro" which served very nice reasonably priced meals. It also provided an English menu. The service was excellent too ! It is located just round the left-hand corner from the hotel.

“Good location”

The Hotel Bristol is located a stone's throw from Carcassone's railway station, which suited us because we were Eurail Pass-ing on this trip. Between the railway station and the hotel is a very pretty, tree-lined canal with a grassy bank just outside the hotel's front door where you can sit and watch the boats or have a coffee at the downstairs cafe. From the hotel it takes approximately 30 minutes to walk to the old city and castle, an easy walk through mainly pedestrian-only streets. The hotel is very basic with no trimmings, but the staff were friendly and helpful and all spoke English. For what the hotel had to offer, it was over-priced.

This hotel is worth the price. The rooms are old but it is not too expensive and you can see the town easily.

El baño de la habitación no estaba adecuadamente limpio, las instalaciones del hotel estaban avejentadas, la almohada no tenía funda.

meme si le personnel a la reception est tres agreable, le hall d'entrée sympa, il n'en est pas de meme des chambres. Nous ne sommes pas des gens difficiles mais nous avons du changer de chambre car sale, malodorante et salle de bains des plus vetustes mais des plus sales ' WC entartré et fond noir, balai WC très suspect et état general des sanitaires deplorable . En compensation, nous avons été replacés dans une suite qui apparemment n'avait pas été faite depuis des lustres, vitres sales, et salle de bains un peu plus recente que la precedente ( genre années 70) mais très mal entretenue ( papier derriere le bidet) et robinetterie qui resiste et on se demande comment. Le linge de bains sentait la graille ( fenêtre donnant sur les cuisines pour cause certainement) et chose que je n'ai jamais vu dans un hôtel, du linge de bains dechiré et usé!!! Vu le prix de l'hotel, on s'attendait à beaucoup mieux. les etoiles ne correspondent pas à l'état de cet etablissement et petit conseil pour expedia, hotel a radier des listes de reservations car il n'en vaut pas la peine et risquerait de creer prejudice au serieux de cette agence de voyage en ligne. heureusement, nous travaillons avec expedia depuis de nombreuses annees et nous n"avons jamais eu a nous en plaindre. ces informations ont d'ailleurs été transmises à expedia par telephone
