The quality is hard to beat at the price we paid. We should have stayed just one night but because it was comfortable, and the location was very quiet albeit on an industrial park (and hard to find initially) we decided it was a good base for a second night.
We booked this hotel last-minute for a three night stay in Carcassonne (we flew in from Bournemouth, UK). The hotel and furnishings are fairly modern, everything looked very clean and the bed/bedding was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was quite small but perfectly adequate and the loo was separate which made life easier. We paid a little extra to have a balcony with a view of La Cite, and this was stunning (I could even see it when laying in bed!). We enjoyed two lovely breakfasts in the hotel restaurant with panoramic views (you don't need to book in advance) and had another lovely breakfast on a sunny pavement in town - it's nice to have the choice. The hotel has a small indoor pool (with a lovely view), but we didn't have time to use it. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Carcassonne.
I and my wife stayed for 3 days in part of the hotel called the Ramparts. The rooms were small but wonderfully located. We parked our car in the "Hotel Reserved" section of the parking just outside the city walls and were taken by a small van through the narrow streets of the city to the hotel for check-in. This ride was amazing and reminscent of the "Italian Job". The city is small and can be easliy walked around. There are numerous places to eat and drink within the medieval city and many of the restaurants, cafes and bars have bi-lingual staff. The city is primarily a Tourist destinantion so there are plenty of guided tours available. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and recommend it as a "must see" for those travelling through the Languedoc area.
This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The room was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The restaurant was closed for dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday when we were there but we had breakfast in the hotel and that was excellent. The garden is an oasis of quiet after a day of sight-seeing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. A truly wonderful experience and the highlight of our visit to France.
A super city break with the B&B situated within walking distance of the shops railway station and the old city. The Canal Midi and the river Aude provided lovely walks. The service from our english speaking hosts was friendly and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble. The room and bathroom were comfortable with charming decor and the street was very quiet at night. We will be telling our friends and family to visit this very friendly part of France and visit the nice little B&B.
