"secluded, relaxing villas in lovely surroundings"
Good choice of pools - outdoor swimming lake, outdoor pool and indoor pool. We went in early June which was perfect because it was fairly quiet and peaceful. Nice villa - quite large with good facilities but the beds and sofa were a little uncomfortable. Better than expected though, for the price. Surrounding area and Carcassonne just beautiful, but you definitely need a car.
We booked this as a last minute holiday following the reviews and weren't disappointed. The chateau itself is centrally located for sight seeing, however you will need a car and sat nav. The accommodation was excellent and clean, with a well stocked kitchen and the added bonus of a dishwasher. It was excellent value for money as we got an off season deal. The chateau wasn't that busy, which suited us well as we wanted to chill, however would probably avoid in the height of the holiday season as imagine it could be very noisy.
Very convenient to the old city. I am amazed at how they have taken a series of old buildings in Carcassonne and turned them into an upscale hotel. You have to climb a series of stairs to move from one building to another but this is more than made up for by the location. It is five minutes from the gate to the city. Very convenient. We stayed two nights and it worked very well as a base to explore Carcassonne.
We stayed here for two nights on our way to the south east of France. It is located just outside the center and is accessible to motorway. The room was clean and fresh with simple but very adequate furnishing and comfy bed, great shower and quiet situation. The little pool is ideal for a plunge after a hot day exploring the area. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We ate there for breakfast and dinner. Good food at a reasonable price. Overall a good place to stay.
Driving up we were a little surprised at the location (next to a sports field) however as soon as we walked in we were blown away with the wonderful courtyard and building itself as well as the friendly staff. Super stay, wish we had longer to enjoy the pool and garden. Dinner was AMAZING!! Wonderful, romantic stay :)
