“It was Nice”
It was very clean and comfortable to stay at. They just remodeled it. No Breakfast -- We were told they did not have permits to serve full breakfast as advertised. Just toast and coffee. Hottub was not working.
“Worst Hotel in Carbondale”
Arrived and checked into the hotel. The pool is close to the check in counter and the laundry for the entire hotel is done on the first floor. Therefore, there is a whole lot of humidity on the first floor, which is where we had our room. Upon entering the room, there was a musty smell and fell to everything in the room. The comfortor on the bed was damp to the touch along with the carpet. We had two small children with us on the trip and felt as though they shouldn't be on the carpet without first spraying lysol all over the floor. I turned up the A/C because I thought that would help. It would have but the A/C was 25 years old and built into the wall of the hotel. Checked on the pool on the first night. It was okay, a little small. Went back to the rool to rinse off the kids in the tub and noticed as we were filling up the tub that the floor mat had detached from the floor and glue/black stuff was floating all over in the water. Needless to say, I went to the front desk and asked if someone could clean it up. The guy told me that the maids lived upstairs and it might take 15 min or so until they could make it down. The lady shows up and doesn't speak a word of english tells me that that is how all the mats are. The hotel clerk gave me a wopping 10% off of my bill because I complained about the tub. This hotel is not worth the money I paid. The breakfast was horrible. The eggs were not cooked right. They ran out of food frequently. Overall, this place sucked!
“Nice Hotel”
The staff was very helpful and prompt. My room was clean and pleasant.
“Great for the price”
We arrived in town early and called for an early check in. They were friendly and accommodating which was a great start to our stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and we liked having a couple chairs and coffee table to relax. You rarely see this in hotels of this class or even in more expensive hotels. We were very pleased with the cost, room, staff and hot breakfast in the morning. We plan to stay here again.
“Not a good place to stay”
This hotel is terrible. The attendent gave me a key to a room that wasn't ready; the next room's refrig and phone did not work. The ice machine on the 3rd floor did not work. I did receive 10% off but that wasn't worth it. I will never come back to that hotel and will not recommend to anyone.

“The best bang for the buck!!!”
This hotel was fabulous for the money - if you're looking for a 5 star hotel - then, obviously, this is not it. However, for the small price we paid, the hotel is in decent shape, the rooms were well made up, clean, and well furnished - with safe and mini fridge - nice swimming pool, exercise room, and HOT FREE breakfast!!! The hotel is right in the middle of at least 10 places to eat and some shopping as well - everything you need is within 3 blocks - and is only 1-2 miles from SIUC. I travel to Carbondale often and will never stay anywhere else from this point forward (unless of course, my employer is paying - in which case I would stay in the HI down the road - hope this helps!
