“Nice hotel - bad location”

We got the sea superior room which was nice enough and staff was helpful. The breakfast buffet was nothing special however. Some reviews i read complained about the noise but we didnt think it was an issue. It can be noisy during the day because it is located on the harbour but we were almost never in our rooms during the day. At night the harbour is deserted for the most part. The biggest reason why i would not return is location. There isnt much to do at the harbour so you have to take a cable car up to Capri. This can be a pain everyday because the lineups can get long. We were there for four days so it adds up.

“Not a four-star”

This hotel isn't bad. And that is really the best description of it. It isn't, despite it's rating and price, a four star. For me a four star means: - Staff regularly go above and beyond in their help and advice; - Room is luxurious with no defects (and if defects are reported they are resolved); - Breakfast if included is of a high standard. On the first point, the manager was helpful and would go out of his way to give directions and make dinner reservations. The rest of the reception staff were somewhat diffident and sometimes gave the impression that it was too much trouble. On the second point, we had a superior room with a harbour view. The room fixtures and fittings were OK but the room felt far from superior. The shower also gave off a piercing noise when we used it but despite reporting this to the reception, it was not fixed. Not four star quality. On the third point, breakfast is on a nice terrace with a view out onto the bay. However it is one of those buffet breakfasts where you have to get there reasonably early otherwise your fellow guests will have eaten most of the food. Location - Marina Grande. Good if you are planning to take boat trips and are in Capri for only a short amount of time. However next time I visit I would consider one of the other options in Capri Town or Anacapri which might be more expensive but would hopefully genuinely merit their four stars.

“Excellent location and magnificent views!”

We spent 3 days at Relais Maresca and loved every minute of it! The location was great, the views from our room were breathtaking. Although the hotel is close to the port, you do not hear much noise. In fact, the location is very convenient. The hotel also has an excellent restaurant on the roof. Rooms are very nice and clean. The only thing to improve slightly is the Wi-Fi connection, because it got interrupted regularly. We absolutely recommend this hotel!

“Not Great”

The location of this hotel is where the ferries come in and is quite noisy. The rooms are okay but the service not great. A single towel in a double room and the TV did not work. The hotel was going to send someone up but did not. It was near the end of the season so they did not bother to open the bar. The restaurant was only open for breakfast so we had to go out in the pouring rain to eat. There are much nicer hotels if you take the funicular to the upper island or in Anna Capri that do remain fully operational until the last guest leaves!

“Close to the harbour”

Great hotel, at the centre of the main harbour on Capri. Very close to the furnicular to take you to the centre of Capri, but there isn't much going on around the hotel in the evening. Lovely roof terrace.

“Not a great location”

The hotel is right across the street from the capri port which makes for a noise street. Also, all the restaurants near the port and the hotel close at 6/7pm and the area becomes dead. You will have to take the fonicular (air train) up into the center of the island to have dinner and probably take a cab or bus back to your hotel as the trains stop running past 8:30pm. I would probably get a hotel in the center of Capri rather than the port next time. The beach near the hotel is always in the shade (at least it was in October), it got sun in the early morning only. So to go to the beach you will need to hike to the other side of the island which from the hotel is a hike.

“Amazing ocean view terrace”

Loved it. The location is steps from the main port/marina (Marina Grande) on Capri Island. Great bus and easy access to the cable car that takes you straight into the "city" of Capri at the top of the hill. The location was nice and quiet (being outside of the main tourist section). Our room wasn't anything fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, and they provided us with a lot of great local tips. The hotel has an amazing breakfast on their roof-top terrace with a great variety of breakfast foods (including several types of fresh croissants!) and a beautiful view. We will totally return on our next visit to Capri.

“Great Location”

The hotel is located right near the port - which might be noisy for some people, but the good thing is that you don't have to waste money taking taxis up and down the mountain when you want to go somewhere, the funicular, island boat tours, boat rental, scooter rental are all literally right at your door step. Great hotel for the money.

“Recommended”

Good hotel although location wise the upper part of Capri is much better.
