“Extremely disappointed........NEVER go there!!!!!”

7/17/11 La Floridiana was horrible The hotel was run down it had a musty smell that permeated throughout.The bathroom was old with tiny bugs in the tub areaThe hallways were littered with clients dirty sheets/blankets.The hallways were dark and dreary.The'Ocean View' was a joke! Far off in the distance you could catch a glimpse of the water.Trees obstructed the view. The back wall of a nearby bldg. is what we saw. Pool was completely covered and under construction. Rude and arrogant personnel.After seeing the condition of the hotel and deciding that we were NOT going to spend even ONE night there we asked if we she would get Expedia on the phone so that we could change hotels at that point. She refused to give us back a copy of our passports which she held on to for quite some time She lied to us at every turn saying that she had no way to access Expedia.The phones didn't work she didn't have Expedia's phone number keep in mind they do business with Expedia on a daily basis!Her solution to our problem was to put us in another room with a jacuzzi She offered for us to use another pool down the road at another hotel or worse yet walk to the beach 15 min away Shame on this hotel for the condition that it's in and for hiring a person like that woman at the front desk We left after three hours I have since told everyone I knowto stay as far away from La Hotel Floridiana as possible!!

“no hot water”

we had no hot water in our bathroom. we called twice and were treated as if we were being very "picky" and no one rushed up to help us. when we complained at check out (after two days without hot water); they just asked us if we had any additional charges on our room. Would never stay again, which is unfortunate as the hotel is really lovely and the breakfast buffet excellent. Well, perhaps I would stay in summer when a cold shower would be lovely!

“Not at all what it was presented as...MAJOR disappointment”

To start with, what the hotel advertises as satellite or cable TV is misleading, as there was only 3 channels available in English. When calling and making several trips to the front desk, we asked when the cable would be fixed; we were asked when we were leaving, to which we told them Monday, and they said, "Oh, well that's when the Sky tech is coming. So sorry." The staff, who's second language was clearly English, was, for the most part, completely unhelpful. The room had small bugs and, when making the front desk aware of this, we were told there was nowhere else to put us, even though the hotel was pretty empty. They neglected to mention that the pool was under renovation and that they had a work crew working on it, starting at 8:30 AM. What they consider a "double bed" is putting 2 twin beds together and keeping them together with a large fitted sheet. Their "continental breakfast" consists of yoguart, granola, toast, croissants with jelly and butter pats, cold cereal, coffee, and "fresh squeezed" orange and pineapple juice that we saw the waiter squeeze into the dispenser from containers. Also, while you're eating, the waiter writes down everything you take from the buffet and how many cups of coffee or juice you have. There was no hot foods, such as eggs of any type or even frozen waffles. The hotel was not conveniently located to anything and was extremely difficult to find. We called the hotel for directions and was told to just "look for signs". Not helpful

“La Floridiana Hotel a terrible experience, certainly not a four star hotel by any means,”

Hotel Floridiana was a terrible experience for us and not the four star hotel we were expecting. The hotel pool was under construction and we would told would not be finished until next year. We could pay a fee and swim in the next door hotel's pool. Our room was booked as a "deluxe seaview" room. There was a seaview however the furnishings would have been deluxe many years ago. The hotel staff were pleasant however we were surprised to be asked to pay the balance of our account in cash when we checked out. This has not happened to us in any other hotel. Our room was booked and paid for through Expedia. Another disappointment was that there was no bar or eating place in the hotel, the dining room was provided for breakfast only. I would not recommend this hotel to any other travellers and it certainly wouldn't induce us to return to Capri.

“Disappointed ...”

Very disappointed that the swimming pool was under construction and could not be used. Otherwise, this hotel was okay. Capri was very crowded with tourists! Be aware that this & most hotels can only be reached by walking from the main square - the streets in Capri are very small & pedestrian-only.

“Beautiful and clean”

The hotel was situated in a quiet street overlooking the sea. Each room was decorated differently with beautiful period furnitures. The lobby was prestine and very relaxing to hang around. I wouldn't mind coming back here to stay. The only thing I would change when I come back is to carry a small suitcase because from the port to get to the hotel, you have to ride the funicular and once you are up the area, you have to walk long ways to get to the hotel. We were logging big suitcases because we went to many european places before we ended up here. Nevertheless, it was a very satisfying stay.

“Enjoyed my stay”

Very pretty hotel with friendly, helpful front desk personnel. Restaurant food was also very good. Mini bar prices were not listed in the room but turned out to be very expensive. I would definitely stay there again.
