“Comfortable, affordable”

Helpful front desk, located amid other attractions, convenient restaurant with limited hours, complimentary full breakfast, but aging building and minimal decor. I'd stay here again.

Area recommendations
City Center; convenient to most purposes, but less expensive than the waterfront.

“Night Noise”

The hotel is a friendly, very conveniently located middle of the road place but unfortunately the location can get very loud at night - almost right through the night. Double glazing the windows might make a big difference.

“Very good deal”

Staff was very helpful, rooms clean, breakfast good. All of this in walking distance to the Green Market and other restaurants and bars. Would recommend this any time.

“Great Place!!!! Great Location!!!! Grear Staff!!! Don't pass it up!!!!”

We enjoyed this hotel. we found the location to be very convenient for shopping ang exploring the city. It is literally in walking distance of many attractions and activities, including a vibrant nightlife (Very close to mamma Africa). I enjoyed Green Market square being at the door of the hotel. It was particularly nice to sit in the huge picture window of eh restaurant and watch the market come to life, If you ar a photographer this is a great spot to snap interesting pictures. The free breakfast was very simple. The staff was so great that if they knew we would miss breakfast because we would be on a day trip, they would provide a bag/sac lunch for us. This hotel may not have a pool, spa, exercise room or other such features found at larger hotels, but it has a staff that is so friendly and helpful that it rivals the concierge at large expensive hotels. There was only issues and it was minor: There is a light sensor on one flore tha has a delayed response. This was being worked on before we left.

Area recommendations
The Greenmarket square is great. There is so much to see and explore in this area. The winelands is absolutly awsome. I enjoyed Franschhoek!!!

“Unexpected”

I arrived at the hotel on a Sunday afternoon and was a little nervous because it didn't appear to be in a good part of town and everything was closed. However, when I got inside the hotel I was pleasantly surprised. The next morning when everything was open I found that the hotel was in a great location and it was staffed by very friendly and helpful individuals.

Area recommendations
The area where the hotel is located is a great area to visit. It has a very nice park and some historic buildings. The other areas that are a must are Table Mountain and the waterfront/clock tower. All over these areas there are outdoor vendors selling everything imaginable.

“Comfortable and good spot in town”

Tudor was quiet and hospitable. Breakfast service was very good. Hotel staff was helpful. Television service needs news channels.

Area recommendations
Camps Bay. City tours on the red and blue line bus. The Opera company was excellent. Touring the beautiful cape and local vineyards with wine tasting.

“Lovely small hotel centrally located.”

Lovely small centrally located hotel. Staff were very friendly and always happy to help. Rooms were well presented with tv, air con, good powerful shower and tea and coffee making facilities. Our room actually felt more like a suite as we had an entrance hall/dressing area so the bathroom wasn't directly off the bedroom either. Being so central had it's pros and cons. It's short walk (5 minutes) to the bars and restaurants on LongMarket Street but this also mean noises issues although it is at the very end of the main stretch. The fact it overlooks Green Market Square also means you get the noise of the traders setting up. That said, it didn't bother us too much and we would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

Nightlife
LongMarket Street has some good bars and restaurants. 'Neighbourhood' really good. Mama Africa popular with tourists but it makes it feel slightly themey. Friday seems to be the big night out and Sundays can be quiet with quite a few places shut. Cafe Mojita was a good and popular with younger locals. Food good, burgers etc. Service good as well.

“Tudor Hotel - A Little Gem”

The Tudor Hotel is superbly situated, with the market literally on its doorstep and Long Street just a stagger awy. It is in the middle of all the sights. All the staff were eager to please and were only too willing to arrange trips and excursions; they were clearly proud of their country and city, with good reason. The room was well stocked, with a shower (and the note that Africa's most precious resource was water was noted!) and had a lovely view over the church and market. In sum, a most welcoming and enjoyable stay, made so much by the friendliness and standard of service from all the people in the hotel. We have already recommended this to friends here in Saudi Arabia and are hoping to return.

Area recommendations
The Tudor and its environs were ideally situated for all the tourist areas, especially the Tourist Office which was less than 5 minutes walk away. The Waterfront was idyllic, as was Table Mountain - you really do feel you are on top of the World on your own. Again, the Tudor was handily placed. The night-life of Long Street was energetic but not threatening; the bars and restaurants were excllent and the choice huge.
