“Good location and good value for money”

“good hotel for your money”

The hotel is good for the money, very clean and centeral location beside Water front mall(5 min. walk) and all atractions. nice people in the reception and excellent room cleaning.

“Great Value-Great Location”

This hotel is a great value and located within a five minute walk of the waterfront. The only negative is that breakfast is outrageous and the staff gives no information for nearby alternatives. There are several great places for breakfast at the waterfront opening beginning at 7:30AM

The tram to the top of table mountain is well worth the money Also a wine land tour and a peninsula tour are two great days

“Good value, basic but clean and confortable hotel in great location”

My husband and I are 'flash packing' and chose this hotel for the price and location, especially compared with double rooms with private bath in hostels and were not dissappointed! We went for a 'family' room as it was slightly cheaper than the 'business' room and were pleased that this meant we actually got 2 queen bed rooms! - you could actually have 2 couples sharing as the rooms are completely seperate and share a bathroom (which would be even better value). Yes, the rooms are a bit small but you probably won't spend much time in them! They are very clean and comfortable with a safe and tea making facilities and a decent shower. The location is very good, just a 5 minute walk from the lovely waterfront area and we felt safe walking back at night. Generally friendly and helpful staff and luggage storage is available, plus they even have a 'transit lounge' (though we did not need this as they managed to check us in before 10am when we arrived straight from a night flight which was brilliant!). We would definitely recommend to budget travelers who may not want to be in a hostel but like good value, comfortable and clean accommodation in a great location.

Area recommendations

The Waterfront is a lovely area to stay with a huge choice of restaurants, shops and the ferry to Robben Island leaves from here. There is a taxi rank so it is easy to reach other areas of the city. The area felt fairly safe with lots of security around and has a real buzz on weekends.

“Excellent Hotel”

It was our best decision because the hotel is located in the best area, near everything and the service is excellent. Only the bathroom is quite small but it has the essentials.

“Great location with affordable price”

The hotel is just a few minutes walk to the V&A waterfront. It's great to be in the area w/o spending a fortune. I stayed for 4 nights there; the room I got was not new but it was very clean. You can request a fridge but it's not guaranteed. I didn't get it until my 3rd day. The staff are friendly and very helpful. 2 restaurants (one buffet and the other a-la-carte) on-site both serve good food with regular price. Parking is extra though not much. Be sure to ask for the rate if you plan to drive.

“The Breakwater lodge”

This was an excellent starting point to our holiday. right in the water front so as safe as you re gona get and easy walk to restaurants etc. The staff were great and rooms clean , bed very comfortable. The minus was no comfortable outside seating ,only benches.Great for a few days ..

“What a find!”

Overlooking the V&A Waterfront, with its vast array of shops and restaurants, this inexpensive hotel ticked all the boxes for us. The historical context of the hotel itself, secure parking, excellent breakfast, the quiet, clean and comfortable room overlooking the central quadrangle made our visit to Cape Town a most enjoyable experience. We would be happy to recommend it.

“Die Breakwater Lodge liegt direkt fußläufig an der Waterfront.”

Die Lage des Hotels direkt an der Waterfront mit herrlichen Blick auf den Tafelberg ist ein absoluter Pluspunkt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist - vor allem jetzt, da die Zimmer renoviert sind - hervorragend. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und der Service und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Von der Nutzung des Frühstück-Buffets, das man zusätzlich bezahlen muss, würde ich allerdings abraten. Da gibt es seit Jahren dieselben 3 billigen Wurst- und Käsesorten und die ebenfalls selben fettigen, typisch englischen Eier-Gerichte

Gutes Hotel mit studentischem Flair für Gäste/Familien/Gruppen, denen eine gute Lage und ein freundlicher Service mit gutem Frühstück zum guten Preis wichtiger ist als ein 08/15 Pauschaltourismusambiente
