“"Would love to go back"”
Brilliant location for all Cape Town has to offer, the staff could not have been more helpful. We used bars and restaruants around the hotel even at night and had no problems but we were a party of six.
“best hotel in cape town”
A city centre hotel, outstanding views, if you get a room with a view! 10 Minute walk from the V & A Waterfront & Green Square Market. Main reasons for staying at this hotel were the staff, friendly, nothing to much trouble, and they would spend time with you and make conversation. Sometimes a little noisy due to rush hour traffic, but this is dependant on room, and hussle & bussle of South Africa. Hotel is bright, modern & airy, and very clean. Food is buffet breakfast with a large selection of hot & cold food, also do a buffet service at night but at an extra charge, which is just as extensive as the breakfast and of good quality. For the price this is by far and away the best hotel experience in Cape Town (we've tried a few!). One thing to note they charge for car parking per night, which wasn't shown on the website or explained at check in. But parking is secure with a car guard day & night. Over all a fantactic base for a Cape Town holiday. 9.5 out of 10.
“Good option for a good price”
I booked through Expedia for a very good price (winter promotion for stays longer than 3 days). The hotel is nice, the included breakfast buffet is very good, and the personnel is extremely solicitous. The only "but" is its location in the city centre, which is not very safe at night (but this applies to all hotels in the area). Taxis can take you anywhere and attractions are not too far.

“Zentral, aber den Preis nicht wert”
Wir haben drei Übernachtungen im Fountains Hotel gebucht - laut Kommentare in diversen Internet-Foren waren dort fast ausschließlich zufriedene Gäste. Der Preis war dafür mehr als fair - sozusagen eigentlich ein Schnäppchen in guter Lage relativ im Zentrum, kein Luxus, aber angeblich sauber. Das erste Zimmer das wir hatten war ca. 12m2 groß, Fenster auf das nächste Gebäude mit Klimaanlagen, laut und dunkel. Teppich hatte Brandlöcher, das Bett war gemacht, aber auf dem weißen Laken waren viele Haare (vom den Vorgängern??). Im Bad waren wieder Haare in Badewanne/Dusche und im Waschbecken, das Bad schien nicht geputzt. Am anderen Tag haben wir ein anderes Zimmer verlangt, das wir auch ohne Diskussion bekommen haben, anscheinden wußte man warum. Das Zimmer war diesmal größer und etwas besser geputzt, relativ hell mit Blick zur Straße. Nachteil diesmal: trotz 5. Stock hatten wir den ganzen Tag/Nacht den Geruch der Küche (Würstchen, Braten, Fett), woher das im 5 .Stock kam konnten wir uns nicht vorstellen. Sehr hellhörig waren alle Zimmer. Der Fitness-Raum hatte komplett veraltete Geräte (Laufband, Fahrrad, Kraftmaschine), der "Pool" definitv nicht gereinigt und trübe.Trotzdem waren die Angestellten immer freundlich und das Frühstück OK.

Dommage que notre chambre était trés sombre et sans vue alors que nous y restions 5 nuits alors que les clients de groupes avaient des chambres avec vues et bien claires.
