“Definately going back!!!”
It was fantastic! We were made to feel very welcome at camps bay resort, it was lovely accommodation, with a nice pool, the breakfast was fab and we were close to the beach and local shops. We were able to stroll to the promenade for dinner and cocktails in the evening, it was very relaxing.
“Very Impressesed”
it might have been off season but the apartment was great and in a superb location. VERY comfy bed!
“Family friendly in Cape Town”
View of Beach, view of Table Mountain, lots of kids friendly restaurants nearby. This 6 person apartment fits the bill for families in Cape Town
“Would definately go back”
I would recommend Camps Bay resort as a great place to stay. We stayed in one of the 2 bed apartments which was fantastic. Our late flight home meant we needed to use a room to change in - this wasn't a problem and it gave us an excuse to nose in one of the studio rooms. Again, this was well kept and I would have no hesitation in recommending those also. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the area around the pool is quite small so during a busy time you would struggle to get a sunbed. Not a huge problem as the beach is so close and we were also able to use the ameneties at the Bay Hotel. All in all, Camps Bay was fabulous, the accomodation was great and I can't wait to go back
“Impressed. Spotless and great service all round.”
Great location for views and accessibility to city centre. A bit noisey at night if you are near the nightclub end and middle aged!. Would definitely recommend but not in high season - perfect if you are young and vibey and make the most of the nightlife. Terrific views.
“When can we go back.....!”
Arrived after overnight from London. Room wasnt ready & 3hr before check in so gave me another room to wash up in.Came back at 2pm & moved to my room. We stayed in a classic room very well equiped with indoor/outdoor seating areas TV DVD fridge kettle etc.WiFi is chargeable but free at hotspot by reception Location is very good just 2 mins walk from Camps Bay Beach & Promenade with restaurants & some shops & a good supermarket...but no bottle shop so no alcohol to buy nearest we found was Sea Point a taxi ride away Great choice of restaurants to eat for infact too much choice. Can use facilities of Bay Hotel also which is right at the centre of Camps Bay life. Great choice of 3 pools but only 1 suitable for swimming (but thats only short laps) Not many sunbeds on first impression but always seemed enough to go around. Great attitude of team & nothing is a problem. Was sat in the pool & heard that reception had booked a trip for another couple...Asked If could do the same for us & was back within 10m with it all booked...didnt have to leave sunbed! Will definately go back next UK winter for great hospitality
“Camps Bay resort review”
We had a large open plan superior studio in Brighton court. Itwas very comfortable, great size, very good kitchen area, air conditioning and safe in the room. Every thing was perfect. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a balcony but we knew that it didn't have one when we booked. The breakfasts were very nice and all the hotel staff were very friendly. The location is fantastic as it is really near to all the barsand restaurants at camps bay and very near the beach. The sea at camps bay is a bit too cold and rough to swim in but it is perfect to watch. Parking spaces are available if you hire a car which is a good idea if youwant to see the rest of the penninsula. Houte bay is only a 20 minute drive away and it is a beautiful calm bay and although still a bit cold it is possible to swim there. The blue tourist bus also goes to Houte Bay if you don't want to hire a car. We enjoyed all the restaurants in camps bay, particular favourites were the cod father and the kove but all were good quality. We got taxis in to the city centre some evenings, Long Street has some interesting restaurants and main road at sea point is very good and we also went to the waterfront which was very nice to eat on an evening.
“Average quality during low season...”
The hotel needs a renovation. During the low season, it works more as self-catering apartments rather than a normal hotel operation as there is no restaurant/bar on site and public areas look neglected. Breakfast is served in a coffee house opposite the hotel. Very friendly staff.
“Great location but worn around the edges”
Excellent location on the waterfront of Camps Bay, close to the resort's bars and restaurants. Our room had a great sea view. Centre of Cape Town approx 15 minutes drive away. Rather small communal pool and sunbed terrace. Friendly service and nice breakfast. Room clean but rather worn with peeling paint and leaking toilet in bathroom and rattling windows and doors.
“Not impressed”
Was given a 'non smoking' room that had been heavily smoked in. There were no rooms available to be moved to. A smoke machine was offered, but this took them 3 hours and 3 more phone calls to arrange. The room was still smokey at the end of my 3 night stay. To top this off there was very loud building work going on the floor below between 9am and 5pm everyday including Saturday. This meant the room (kitchen, balcony, lounge area) was not usuable during these times. The hotel offered no acknowledgement or apology for this on check-in and as I already knew there were no rooms available, we could not be moved.
