“We had a really nice stay, would recommend it to anyone!”
Great food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff, everyone makes you feel so welcomed there. We ordered room service the second night we were there and were impressed with the quality of the food. The complimentary breakfast was also great. Worth paying for the seaview room. We saw a few SA TV actors there on our first night, they were staying at the hotel also, (my husband to be is afrikaans) so I assume it has a good reputation anyway.
“Definately a must!!”
This hotel is fantastic. The staff are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make guests comfortable and welcome. The quality of the food in the SALT restaurant is superb and the prices reasonable. There is nothing quite like watching the sun go down over the ocean while relaxing with a bottle of fine South African wine. The shuttle to the V&A Waterfront is a real bonus. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to friends and will stay there if I ever visit Cape Town again.
“Magnificent sunsets”
The Hotel was very comfortable , with spectacular sea veiws from our room.Reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and the Valet parking was excellent.The Hotel's own Airport transfer service is very efficient and good value for money. The only "downside" was one aspect of the Salts Restaurant; We think it is under different management from the hotel,and as it is quite small, it seems reservations for Dinner must be made in advance. We were unable to have a table on our first night ; However the room service was very good. We had a table on our next night , with a spectcular veiw of the sunset, and the meal was very nice.
“What a sea view!”
This hotel is near perfect and highly recommended. The service and individual attention from all departments was excellent. Breakfasts in the Salt Restaurant are individually cooked and the dinner menu superb. The sea view from the bedrooms is outstanding, as long as you like the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. The bathroom was tiny, but the bedroom size is OK. If you don't want a healthy walk, there is a free shuttle service to the V&A. Reception carries very little cash and is unable to change currency.
“a superb hotel in a great location”
We stayed in the ambassador from 17/02/09 - 02/03/09, with breakfast included. We stayed in one of the suites, which are situated just across the road from the hotel itself. We were a little disappointed not to be right on the edge of the sea, as in the hotel itself - but the hotel is built from road level down, so we had an undisturbed sea-view from our (smallish) balcony, with some amazing sunsets. Our suite was very well equipped for our needs, with a fully fitted american kitchen, spacious lounge, bedroom (very comfy bed) and bathroom. The maid service was top class, with the rooms being restored to their pristine state each morning while we were over the road having breakfast. Another round was also made (maid?) in the evening just to make sure everything was ok. At all times and in all areas the staff were extremely pleasant, courteous and helpful and the breakfasts, which consisted of an excellent variety of cereals, fruits and yoghurts, followed by a cooked to order "fry up", were hearty enough to set anyone up for the day. Another nice touch was the free shuttle car service between the ambassador and the V & A waterfront - about 15 - 20 minutes away. We shall return!

Excellent location. Excellent food. Excellent room with sea view. What more can I say? Oh yes, possibly the friendliest hotel staff on the planet. (or at least in all the hotels I have visited) Use the travel desk. Visit the Cape peninsula. Walk the 7km to the V&A Waterfront.
“Cheaper than Camps Bay”
This is my second visit in less than one year. The hotel is in a great location about 5 minutes drive from Camps Bay. The hotel is good value compared to Camps Bay 4 and 5 star hotels, apartments and guest houses. The breakfast is good and the staff are great. The sea view rooms are great although the bathrooms are small by European and American standards. The rooms could benefit from double glazing as the waves crashing are noisy (bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper).
“Extremely impressed”
We had a fantastic stay at the Ambassador hotel. The location is fantastic and the staff cannot do enough to be of assistance. The food at the Salt restaurant is outstanding and definitely worth booking asap when you get there.
“Modern Cape Town Hotel”
Nice small hotel in Bantry Bay with a good breakfast. The sea facing rooms can be noisy if there is a winter storm or gale.
