Adequate accomodation for overnight stay
Upgrade/renovations of hotel was promised for the future. Some lifts were a problem; one lift couldn't stop on the basement floor and another lift was stuck on the 12th floor. All-in-all, we had a nice stay, for overnight accommodation

Unfortunately due to the gale force winds that Cape Town often experiences, the windows in the building do not open for safety reasons. I am however pleased to say that we are set for a huge refurbishment in the near future which will bring new life to a historic landmark! An overall good hotel in the centre of the city
Arrived at hotel at about 6 p.m. Fast Check-in by the pleasant lady on the reception. She lead us to our room on 6th floor. Disappointing as no mineral water was supplied for tea / coffee making and no vacuum cleaning done on the carpet of the room during our 4 nights stay. Only bedding was done with linen & towels changed everyday. The kettle was a bit defective. Good & comfortable bed with soft pillows. The room was not soundproof as the noises of the flushing of toilets in the adjacent rooms were disgusting. The room needs an overall upgrading. Wardrobe doors did not open properly and the lights near the curtains were blown out.

Great hotel in a good central location. Ideal for trips up cable mountain and other sights. Staff were very friendly and the free valet parking was a big bonus !

Not bad for the money they charge
Check-in was good and fast. Everything was prearranged. Breakfast was in a separate cafe which was next door. Not much inconvenient. The food was good. But the absence of a restaurant on the property was very inconvenient as the location of the hotel, though very central, is in an office area and after 5pm it looks deserted and may not be quite safe to venture out late in the evening. There is though, a room delivery system in place. Staff are friendly. The furniture, the bathroom fittings and the air conditioning, all need upgrade. The WiFi is open and rarely functions upto satisfaction.

St. Georges Hotel
This hotel is centrally located in downtown, Capetown and walking distance to many sites. Overall, my experience at the hotel was just fine. If you want a pool or things of that sort, this place isn't for you. If you want a clean trustworthy place to come back to after being out site seeing, you'll be happy.

We stayed at the Hotel on Georges for just one night as it was close to the railway station where we wished to catch a train the following day. Imagine our delight to find that our room at the end of a corridor looked out over the city and across to Table Top Mountain! Our room was very comfortable, and staff most helpful in spite of the high wind outside when we arrived. The inclusive buffet breakfast nearby was excellent.

This is a great hotel to stay at if you're working with a budget, but still want good customer service, amenities, and safety. The entire staff, from reception (especially Karen) to the concierges to housekeeping are all very professional, super friendly, and extremely helpful. I loved staying there. Sure, the hotel could use some cosmetic touch-ups, but it's spacious, clean, and centrally located. Add that to the wonderful customer service, and who cares about some cosmetic touch-ups!

I would have extended my stay but for the unfortunate attitude of a front desk member of staff who didn't want me to book through za.hotels.com and quoted me an inflated price. Now very happy at park in hotel just around the corner.

Basic, a bit worn
Backpacker hotel in a somewhat tense neighborhood. Very basic room. Paper thin walls. Very small safe. Good breakfast, nice staff, clean but worn out hotel. Seen a lot of hard traffic. I left early even though prepaid. There are too many nice places to stay in CT for far less cost. I should have done more research.

Would not recommend at all, converted offices in a hotel, room walls paper thin, stained wall paper, no guests allowed in to the suite, wifi was the worst ever! The excuse they use is that other people are using the wifi, but I tried this all different times of day and night.... just terrible!! AVOID!!!!

Comfortable hotel good location.
Hotel is easy walking distance to most areas in Cape Town centre and the Waterfront. Hotel is close proximity to the Cape Town main train station and bus station. Just 10 minutes walk to Red Bus tours.nearest pick up point for the Red Bus tours. Just minutes walk away from many eating venues and cafes. Hotel comfort and peace is good for the traveller and offers a very memorable experience and enjoyable stay in Cape Town.

Nice convenient hotel!
If you're looking for a central,no-fuss hotel in Cape Town, this is for you! It's near Long street and green market square, and about 5-7 mins drive to V&A waterfront. Staff were super friendly and helpful with directions too!

The receptionist wasn't the friendliest person around and felt like she was doing us a favour checking us in. she also promised my car would be parked in the underground parking only for me to find it still parked in the street when we got back to the hotel at 00:30 and cops arresting people just 10 meters from my car. Not very impressed at all about this ...

The property itself is a bit tired- the plastic shower curtains are a no-no. The linen was crisp and clean, the bed comfortable, the pillows good. Was amused by the "no guests in the rooms" law, and concerned by the advice not to use the ATMs outside at night. But not too bad in all, and the staff are good, within a slightly down at heel property.

Strange combination
I could not fault the staff or their attitude to guests which was first class. A downside is the absence of a dining room or leisure facilities, i.e. a bar. The absolute necessity to have to go next door into a busy shopping mall to breakfast with a voucher was a strange experience and not an enjoyable one. The absolute clincher for me was noise pollution for the sound insulation between rooms is NON-EXISTENT !! Conversations and toilet habits of guests in adjacent rooms were audible and as my room was overlooking Adderley station, a main thoroughfare, the street noise from both commuters and traffic eased only for the small hours. the hotel is handily placed for amenities and tourism but if you are a light sleeper then beware !! This hotel is cheap and cheerful and would for me rate a 3* at best.

Great Location and excellent value for money
Good sized rooms. Bed rather firm for me but the pillows were lovely and soft. WiFi a little slow. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking if free. The breakfast, served just a few steps from the hotel, was very good . There is a good selection of food and as much as you could eat. Paid under £50 a night for two people which we think is great value for a hotel in a good location. This hotel is well placed especially if you want to use the hop on hop off bus which is located in Long Street, about a 10 minute walk. Three of the four bus routes leave from here. This street is also full of good eating places and quirky shops. Check out a tapas restaurant called Fork. It's the best ever. Long Street becomes quite lively at night. The hotel is also about a 25 minute stroll to the V&A Waterfront.
