On arrival immediatley made to feel welcome by the staff who were all friendly and helpful for the length of our stay, we were allowed to settle and get a drink or two before being shown to our room. The room was small but clean and enough for two people, lovely clean bathroom and good working shower. They had kindly reserved a table for us to eat for the evening which they do for all guests so no worries about food. The food itself was by and large locally sourced and was very good ( have been to plenty of inns in the past and this was at the top as far as taste concerned, enough to thank the chef). Had a very enjoyable evening itself in the bar good ales and the locals were very welcoming, enough to be one of the last to leave. Sleep wise both had a good nights sleep, maybe one or two noises through the night (fans or air conditioning) but nothing to spoil your slumber. Breakfast in the morning was good and plentiful and no rush to pay your bill or leave, all very relaxed. So overall I would recommend a visit to a lovely kentish village and a wonderful Inn (we both shall return again).
Arrived earlier than planned but room was ready and we had quick access.
Situated in large grounds with good outdoor sitting experiences.
Was close to Canterbury City Centre and were provided with a City Centre map by staff.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay this weekend. We had a room in the stables which was very comfortable and warm with a great sized bathroom with walk-in shower. Our room had a great view of the old Norman keep opposite the hotel. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very friendly. The Nepalese cleaner even kindly helped me put on a sari for the Indian wedding we were attending. The hotel is within the old city walls and a short, direct walk down to the high street and cathedral. I would definitely recommend staying there.

Exceptional staff, from phoning with a query, giving us a map, and recommending a local trader. Really helpful. Room a fair size, clean and with good provisions. Comfy bed, and a well cooked breakfast.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sun Hotel, we were welcomed warmly and our room was beautiful, clean and quiet. The free breakfast was delicious, the service commendable and I would stay again. We were minutes away from Canterbury's restaurants, shops and supermarkets, and a ten minute walk from the station.
Everything about our stay was very smooth and easy. Check in was easy, room was great. The night porter was probably the nicest man I've ever met, even arriving back at nearly 4am he was sharp and couldn't help enough. If I am ever in the area again I will stay here.

last minute decision to visit canterbury for the weekend, we didn't have much time to look around for hotels online so booked the abode as it seemed quite Central, and it really is in the middle of the town! Couldn't be better placed, the staff are all polite and professional, hotel is very nicely decorated with an upmarket feel, would book again if I visited canterbury in the future.
