“Excellent base”

The Maeva Résidence is ideally located as a base for a holiday on the Cote d'Azur. The residence is very clean and well maintained and the reception staff are friendly and efficient. Our apartment was quite basic but perfectly adequate, although we felt the charge for using the TV set (96 euros for two weeks) was perhaps a bit high. The pool area is well looked after. There are nice shops, cafes and restaurants in the local area. We have stayed at the Maeva Résidence twice now, and would be very happy to go back another year.

“Much better than anticipated.”

We had a 6th floor apartment which could sleep 6/7 we were only two but it gave us more space and comfort then expected. We Stayed in these apartments before but in a privately owned apartment and found that this one, rented through Expedia was superior in size and fittings. Obviously, at the price, luxuriouos surroundings are not expected but it was clean, had everything we required except a kettle (it had a coffee maker). Improvements from previous years included corridors much cleaner, more poolside furniture, refurbished lifts and a fresher look at Reception. Best thing the outing to St. Paul de Vence/Gourdon arranged by the Pierre & Vacance group. Faboulous tour in mini buses with vey good helpful guides/drivers. Negatives include the night entrance/exit arrangements when the main entrance is locked at night, the messing of the entrance paths and surrounding pavements by dogs. The French seem worse than the British as far as dog mess is concerned. Nevertheless I would go back there as I like the area and its bus and rail links to Cannes centre and the rest of the Cote d' Azure including the chance to go into Italy.

“Basic Cheap good view remember to bring a towel”

Basic budget accomodation if attending a conference in Cannes.30-40 min walk along the seafront to the Palais and the Croisette.Bus available from the main street approx 100m from the apartment complex. Bring your own towels - no freebie soaps etc...Basic kitchen for tea coffee making..fridge for juice/water/beers..Can't imagine what the place would be like when the complex is full in the summer but for off season budget conference place to stay very good value if you don't need pampering.

“Breathtaking view, but...”

The view is breathtaking, but there are no amenities to go with it, just the bare basics. Just plan on not spending much time in your hotel room.

“To be avoided”

Very basic, dubious cleanliness, poor maintenance and indifferent staff. From charging extra for coarse towels to the strange stains on the walls and in my case a mixer tap on the bath that was stuck in shower mode this in not a place for the fainthearted. Do not arrive around lunch time as the reception is closed and you will be hanging around for a couple of hours with nowhere to put your luggage. There is no night porter service and entry at night is down a poorly lit side entrance that some people find intimidating.

“Not impressed”

I wasn't very happy with the hotel. It was just the basics. Some of the staff were not very helpful to us but weren't overtly rude or anything like that. The hotel is close to the beach and about 10-15 minutes from the Croisette by bus. It is close to the beach and you have a great view of the ocean from your hotel balcony.

“willnever recommend”

the hotel do not even provide petty neccessities like SOAP. you have to make your own bed after they provide you with bedsheets and pillow cases. BED is BUNK BED. although i was booked for 2 nights, i checked out after 1 night.

“what a dump”

when going to cannes you expect to be surrounded by great views, hotels and people. this place wat a horror show. ok maybe it was my own fault for expecting something half decent for so little money but i would never advice any one to stay in such a crap place. i have slept on more comfortable park benches then these so called beds. overall it was a reminder to me that next time stay at the hilton or a well known branded hotel chain.

“Filthy with no A/C and a train that comes by often!”

The rooms were extremely dirty and the smell of urine in the bathroom was overpowering. There is no A/C so you must keep your windows open. Unfortunately the train runs between the hotel and the beach (25 yards away) and keeps you awake. There is also a frat house atmosphere at night which is also not conducive to sleeping. I wouldn't let my dog sleep here.

“Not impressed”

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I went with my husband who was on a business trip and I wish I had stayed at home!! I know it was difficult to find accommodation due to MIPIM being held but I certainly would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.
