“Not at all impressed; would not stay there for free”
The hotel was situated behind the train station and was flanked by a small town square on one side and a park on the other. The area was an eye sore with homeless people and drunks hanging out at all hours of the day and night. The room itself was small and the towels smelled old and dank. The service desk was indiffernt to its clients at best. The cost for a standard room was quite high, but don't forget we were in beautiful Cannes. I am sure there are better hotels for the value and I really can't believe that The BW Canner Riviera Hotel was rated four stars. You can't be SERIOUS.
“a 4-star Hotel??? Absolutely not....”
We had a KING size res. But we were assigned to a tiny bedroom w/ a double bed. May I underline that the hotel was empty - due to Holidays - and we were scheduled to stay for 11 nights! They finally agreed - upon my request...-to move us to a king size bed ! We were charged for Wi-Fi Internet usage while in the general BW brochure (page 401) it reads" "High speed Internet access for FREE - in every meeting room, lounge and bedrooms" !! Our phone did not work properly- Despite my request for a new one, it took them THREE days to replace it ! Was unable to get a iron/ironing board in the room. (I was told it is not permitted!) Had to go the basement/laundry room in order to iron a few garments. The bathroom needs badly Ventilation! A 4-Star hotel without a Mini-Bar !!!!
“Great Affordable hotel in Cannes”
This place was a dream come true after the previous hotel on the other side of the train station. There is a short walk under the train station through a long tunnel to get to it, but it is not bad. You can still walk to the beach in 5-10 minutes. The pool deck on the rooftop is REALLY nice and has a great view. Huge bonus. If you can't afford to stay right on the beach, but don't want some little hovel, this is the place.
“Would not return”
Comfortable, but very basic. No coffee/tea facility in room or mini fridge. Shower room very small. The breakfast was very over priced, and as I only wanted a coffee, croissant and orange juice had to go out for breakfast every morning to avoid this excessive charge. The pool on the roof terrace had no shade facility so was unuseable in the heat wave that was going on when I was there. Staff at reception friendly and helpful but did not go as far as taking bags into rooms on arrival/departure. The one coffee I ordered in reception was delivered by a waitress who hovered, waiting for a tip - as this was the only complimentary thing on offer - I was offended. Immediately outside the hotel entrance, was the railway station on ground level, guarded only by railings - therefore no sound barrier, and above the railway, a motorway! Tramps were sleeping under the arches. So not an attractive view if your room is on that side of the hotel, and because of the tramps, returning from a restaurant on my own one evening had to walk back to the hotel via the motorway and vehicle underpass. My room fortunately faced inwards, on other attractive, old style French buildings and the breakfast court yard.
“Nice hotel, not far from the front and really close to the train station”
Good hotel, pool access on the roof. The website describes "cheap" parking available, they offer parking in their secure car park for charging per night, which was not exactly cheap, but its secure. I think we could have parked close by for cheaper but we arrived late so had to follow advise from the reception.
“Good value and great customer service”
Although our room was not available on check-in and we needed to spend a night in an alternative hotel the staff could not have been more accommodating. The alternative hotel was of a very good quality and we were supplied with a suite for the night. Nothwithstanding that we were upgraded for the rest of our stay for our understanding of the situation - its nice to know that you don't have to complain in order to get good service. The location was close to the railway station so as expected was not the best of areas but was a short and safe walk into the city (after overcoming the initial trepidation) We felt well looked after at the Best Western but the room facilities could have been better - there was no coffee making facilities or fridge (despite being upgraded) and free wireless internet nowadays should be a given, rather than having to pay an extortionate amount for limited access. All in all a great time made possible by friendly and accommodating staff
“Nice, friendly hotel”
First of all there are several best Westerns in Cannes. This one was located next to the train station, which was convenient the day we had to go to Nice. There's a little tunnel we took to get get under the station to the other side. There are also buses running in front of the train station. Due to the train station nearby, our room was a bit noisy, and they hadn't turned on the A/C yet, so we needed our windows open. Apparently they can't have the A/C on and the heat. The nights get a little cool in late May/early June. But we weren't in our rooms much anyway. There is a pool on the roof which was very nice. We did not take advantage of the breakfast, a little pricey. Plus there's so many places nearby to grab something. The rooms were very nice, beds were comfortable. The hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. There was a little bar on the first floor where you could get a drink or an ice bucket. Usually the front desk person was also the bartender. The elevators are small so you may have to make multiple trips. They will also store your luggage if you need to. Definitely a nice place.
“I do not recommend”
From a room of the hotel some things were gone. After have addressed to administration and have promised to cause police, things have been returned.More cautiously!
