Great hotel with amenities and a fair price

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Pros: The hotel grounds are beautiful, the beaches are white and expansive, the numerous pools and chairs were awesome.
Cons: We called twice for maintenance issues and the hotel could use a paint job. The electrical outlet for the standing lamp shocked me.
Location: The hotel offers parasailing, jet skiing, awesome photographer w/great prices, excursion sales office, gift shops, full service spa. No need to leave!
We were very happy with our short 4 night stay. We arrived on a Thursday and had an early evening from traveling and were unhappy to find the hotel was very noisy due to activities at the pool. I suggest upgrading to the premier ocean view room because it has a private small hallway shielding the room from noise inside the hotel plus the rooms are on the far ends of the hallways furthest from the elevators. The floors are marble which are nice but make for a very noisy hotel.

Pleasing

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: The hotel seemed to have everything you needed all under one roof
Cons: The MC at the main pool was so annoying. Just play music and stop hitting on girls over the microphone.
Location: Located on hotel row, a short ride from the airport, as well as a short ride to down town. Many tours and adventures near by.
The staff makes the hotel. Most of the staff here understand that they work in a resort/ tourist destination and they really serve you. It was amazing service. It was a great place to relax. They have a newer restaurant La Vista, there is a $25 per person charge to eat there but it is worth it, good steaks and you can order a few of them if you want. We went on the Chichen Itza tour and it was so long (13 hours) not to mention it may have been the hottest place we have ever been, both tour guides the one on the bus and the one on location were very annoying. We were so over the experience that we didn't do any other events because of that tour. Cant really go wrong with All Inclusive.

Gorgeous and Relaxing!

Posted 01-Aug-2014
Pros: The gorgeous view and the amazing and attentive staff.
Location: The hotel is right on the beach, and we had a stunning view of the ocean. It is within walking distance of Aquaworld, where you can rent jet skis.
My family and I just returned from our 7 day stay at the Omni in Cancun, and we LOVED our stay! The hotel is beautiful, incredibly clean, and well-maintained. Our rooms were ocean view, and we had a stunning, amazing view of the turquoise Caribbean water. The rooms were a good size and nicely decorated. Each room has a mini-fridge with soda, water, and beer, which is part of the all-inclusive price and is restocked each day. As for dining, we thoroughly enjoyed the food. La Paloma, the main buffet, has very good food with a variety of choices. The best part of dining, though are all of the other restaurants, which I think that most people don't take full advantage of. The sushi bar was amazing, the pool restaurant was excellent, Viva Mexico was great, and Pina Colada was delicious and scenic. As for nighttime dining, we ate at Deva (Indonesian cuisine) and that was outstanding. It is right next to the beach and has excellent views of the water. We also ate at La Vista and had a superb meal of fish and steaks. The absolute best was Da Vinci (Italian). We had outstanding, personalized, professional service from our server Enrique. He was gracious and made us feel welcome and cared for. The food was divine! We also want to thank head waiter, Rene, for his attentive, personalized, and professional service during our stay. Finally, we want to thank and compliment the entertainment staff: Marco and Luis were fun and energetic all week long. They planned great events!

Ocean view Villa

Posted 31-Jul-2014
Pros: The pools and beach set up is great--the villas could use updating and making easier access down to the beach or to the pool area!
Cons: Still wished they served food on the swings at Kuku's Bar instead of having to "cleanup" and go to one of the other places to eat-especially for lunch
Location: Captains Cove is great across the street restaurant, Aqua World is nearby also and so is LaHabichuela Sunset & La Distileria restaurants--all great!!
Absolutely beautiful--my third time staying here--enjoy Kuku's Bar on the beach and the PiƱa Colada Restaurant that is beachfront the most! Love the setup--however, still wished they served food on the swings at Kuku's Bar instead of having to "cleanup" and go to another place to eat--especially for lunch!

Loved the pool but not much else

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Pros: Liked the pools, staff and cleanliness of the hotel (when they remembered to clean the room)
Cons: make all the restaurants available for dinner. If you are staying 3 or 4 days, you can only make 1 dinner reservation so you are left with the buffet
Location: Location was great if you wanted to be close to airport. Not much nearby unless you took a cab or the bus to the shopping and nightlife area.
The Omni hotel was clean, staff was friendly, pools and beach were great. Could only make 1 dinner reservation since we were only staying 3 nights, which left us with the buffet for dinner - not a good option since food was cold and we felt way overdressed in a sundress since everyone else wore shorts and T-shirts. The best restaurant was Deva (on the beach) which they don't push at all. Don't miss this place. Great breakfast there too if you want to order instead of doing the buffet. Sushi was awesome every afternoon in the sushi hut and the Taco place always had hot good food and friendly service. The pool drink service was slow unless you gave a little tip the first time they took your drink order. Disappointed that there wasn't really a lounge in the evening. The Lobby Bar was the only option and kids were running around since it was just out in the Lobby. WARNING - if you are there with a group of girls/women - don't accept the "free" 5 minute jet ski offer on the beach beside The Omni. My friend and I were both inappropriately propositioned once we were driven far out from the beach.

Overall Good Hotel - Difficulty checking in

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Pros: Sushi, room, good view from oceanfront balcony, Ocean/beach was amazing
Cons: more organized activities, pools with ocean views
Nice resort overall - Some difficulty checking in: got there at 1130am (check in not until 3), asked if we could get into the room early. The gentleman said of course he will call and get housekeeping to clean the room asap and to check back in an hour. We ate, walked around the resort, came back: the woman at the desk said it is not ready yet. Drank at the lobby bar, went back to the desk 30 minutes later, the gentleman call again and said its not ready yet, came back in 45 minutes: same thing. Waited until 3pm, the guy stalled, got on the phone to call up, 20 minutes after standing at the desk, he motioned over to another worker who was sent up to double check the room. We finally ride up the elevator at 335, get into the room and the tv was still wet from them just cleaning it. Didn't like being given the run around Pools were ok: Activity pool with swim up bar didn't have a view of the ocean - not many organized activities other than bingo, name that tune, and one water aerobics thing. Pool with loungers in water was nice but had a very obstructed view of ocean. Jacuzzi bar at the beach was real cool with an AMAZING view, unfortunately got too hot after a while. Food: We really liked the food Sushi was absolutely AMAZING! Mexican food was good at Viva Mexico. Buffets were standard for AI Breakfast at the restaurant on beach (pina colada) was sub par - was a sit down but thought the food choices were odd and not too appealing - view was great.
