“Quaint little resort”

My stay with my girlfriend and our 6 year old daughter was great! Immediately greeted w/smiles and the eagerness to take care of us. We arrived well before check-in (9 a.m) Lizet at the front desk hooked us up w/a room that was ready! It was nice to be able to unpack and get changed for the beach/pool. Everything w/neat and very clean, and the food was excellent and well priced. If you want to stay at a smaller resort w/all the bells and whistles of a mainstream one this is your place.

“Friendly, efficient and beautifu”

We've just had two short stays at the Avalon. The staff were helpful, competent - champagne on arrival - and friendly. The buffet breakfast was fantastic and the restaurants were cheaper and better than most of the meals around. The rooms on both occaions were perfect for a family of five, with high ceilings and lots of interesting features. There is sometimes a problem with their beach, which comes and goes according to the sea's behaviour, but they've got great views across the sea and swimming pools. This is a place I would happily return to.

“Quality overseeds price”

I cannot get this across to anyone on how much fun we had. We had 3 couples and everyone had a good time. Jaun was the best at helping us out on things to do and activities. He is worth his weight in gold-ten fold. We did not do the booking of trips, our other friends did, but from what i could see he was very helpful. Lizabeth oh what a bartender!!!! The view from out room was great but had to contend with two adjacent doors. Noise from other guest sometimes got out of hand but also entertaining. Maid service was honest and they changed sheets every time. No bath tub, but one massive shower. Never ran out of hot water. Beach and poolside. We walked down the shore line both ways and checked out others to compare for next time. We could not find a better poolside and chairs, let alone the service of the employee to help with umbrellas and beds. Very clean as well out there. It wasn't the biggest it was just right, not overcrowded in which you would get in a bigger hotel. We only ate breakfast there a couple times. It was ok. To me they should of had more to choose from for the bucks. The lady who did omelets didn't speak english well so they were always on the runny side. Maybe if we complained a little this would of been fixed. Our fault.. So to use perfect location, setting, service and fun.

“Ready to go back!”

We had the best best vacation in Cancun with our two kid over Spring Break at The Avalon Grand! It was perfect for a family vacation. It is on the beach! It is in the hotel zone. The Avalon Grand has a very good restaurant. All the staff was fantastic and very helpful. We can't wait to go back!

“Above average”

Our A/C unit was not working initially, but the hotel was able to accomodate us into a different room. Good location for restaurants, staff was helpful. There are elevators in the main building, but none in the other buildings, so remember this if travelling with young kids.

“Awesome, quiet & relaxing!”

I really enjoyed my stay here and was very plesantly surprised! I had been at an "all inclusive" for my son's wedding for a couple of nights before which (was nice for the ceremony but overpriced since I don't drink much & definitely don't need to eat so much) unfortunately included a lot of noise & just so-so food & drinks! The restaurant at Grand Avalon was great and very accomodating with my preferences, customizing exactly to what I wanted! I highly recommend the ocean front room w/great balcony, for anyone wanting affordable rest and relaxation w/o all the frills. Beautiful infinity edge pool and beachfront. I'm not a big fan of stairs but these were very easy since they're wide & not steep, actually great exercise which I always need more of!

“Nice Time”

The Avalon Grand Cancun its a small hotel compared with others; however, it has the same comfort. People are friendly and helpful. The hotel its located in the middle of the hotel zone, which gives you the opportunity to be near everything (from the mall "Isla Plaza" and "Flamingo Plaza" to the clubs "Coco Bongo" and "Hard Rock Cafe".

“Great Stay”

Everyone was helpful. The hotel was comfortable. Awesome view of the ocean from the balcony, however there was no beach to walk to directly from the hotel. Oh well, taking the bus to the public beach was part of the experience.

“Very nice place”

When I was reading the reviews of this hotel, I was definitely a bit nervous about what to expect...since so many people had complaints! I actully loved this place, the service was great, it was in a great location and was just a beautiful place. Definitely good value for the money. The only downside was the beach, but we just jumped the fence and swam down there anyways. I actully prefer smaller hotels, so this one was perfect for us. The beds are very firm, but are still comfortable. The shower takes a bit to warm up...so turn it on and leave it going for a couple of minutes.
