The customer service at Moon Palace was excellent. It was obvious the resort invests heavily in training employees how to interact with guests, use proper terminology and speak English. Many US hotel properties have slipped in this most important aspect and could learn lessons from Moon Palace. Our bellman escorted us to our room. He was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Throughout our stay we unconsciously expected kinks in staff armor, but they remained consistent. Our room was well appointed with quality fixtures, furnishings and amenities. Facilities and grounds were well kept, modern with no visible disrepair. The restaurants offered a wide variety of cuisines, locations and decor. Even frequenting the same buffet restaurant, the menu changed daily. Recreation was diverse and offered something for everyone. We never had to search or reserve a pool deck chair. They were abundant. The golf course was world class resort style and immaculate. But bring lots of balls due to the jungle and numerous water hazards. We took a day trip to Chichen Itza. The Mayan ruins were worth the distance traveled. However, at over 13 hours from pick up to drop off, the excursion was too long. There is no resort fee, so tips are graciously accepted but not expected. Tipping just a dollar makes employees feel good. The resort has a membership program. The sales presentation is optional. But, we sat through it in exchange for our complimentary Mayan Ruins day trip.
"Very nice hotel with all inclusive food and drinks"
This is one of the top hotels that exceeded my expectations and the staff was amazing, the all inclusive food and drinks was the icings on the cake. The cleaning crew was all ways on the go and they have kept the premises really nice. The kids corner staff is very friendly with the kids. The front office staff are very informative. Overall this is a very nice hotel to relax and enjoy your vacation.
Third time here. We've stayed at other hotels, but always come back to this one because it's simply the best. Gorgeous rooms and pools and no reason to stay elsewhere. It's location is pretty centrally located in the hotel zone and shopping for food and clothing is very close.
Me and my girlfriend spent an amazing 4 nights in this hotel. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The hotel had an amazing beach which was primarily occupied by only the people in the hotel. The beach was great to swim in. On the beach there are many huts and seats where you can lie down and soak the sun for hours. There is sufficient hotel staff on duty on the beach and they are prompt if you would like to order food or drinks on the beach -- we specially loved this. They provide you with beach towels so you dont need to bring them from your roo,.

I had the best time at na balaam. Something about it felt like home. This hotel is organically blended with the natural environment around it! The hammock on my balcony overlooking the pool was the most relaxing part of the evenings! The staff are completely friendly and truly care about their guests. I was a solo traveler and everyone at the hotel knew me by name and helped me in every way possible! This is NOT a party hotel, it is a relaxing retreat. The rooms don't have phones or televisions, but zazil the restaurant does. If you're looking for a loud, party, exciting hotel this is not for you... this is an oasis - a paradise IN paradise. I am a nursing school student and have a crazy life - I needed to get away from everything and everyone and this was my eden. Simple, classic, beautiful.
This hotel is great for the entertainment it provides through out the day and night.
Great Beach, great staff, great service, ok food and excellent drinks served all day long.
We stayed 3 days, should have stayed a week!
Beautiful turquoise water and amazing views from the pools. The swim up spa pool/hot tub was the hit with our group. The staff was so friendly every where we went and gave recommendations of fun things to do and see. We will be back!
While my husband and I were only lucky enough to spend three nights at Sun Palace, it was the most relaxing trip we have ever taken. We were completely bowled over by the genuine friendliness of the staff. It honestly seemed like the workers enjoyed being there and that helping make each guest's experience smooth was their goal. From room service to the servers on the beach, everyone bent over backwards with a smile. We took small bills for tipping, but it did not seem expected by any means and was always received graciously.
