"Excellent family hotel with lovely pool and staff"
Went there on a family vacation for a week and have to say, it was superb. The beds could be better.. the only gripe. The staff are amazing and very helpful. The quality of food is very good as well and to top it all, the pool is huge. Very child friendly and would definitely recommend. Getting the pool lounges is not an issue as we normally went there at our leisure and still always found atleast a couple available next to each other. Since this hotel is not on the beach, would recommend a pool view room as the view is really worth it. Can Picafort is a nice place with loads of places to eat and shop, a decent harbour and the beach is lovely. You can walk left when you reach the beach to find quieter spots. Only problem was water sports for our 7 year old on the beach. There were none for his age. But if you go to Alcudia which is about 12 km from Can Picafort (frequent bus serivce or 15-20 Euros by cab), there are options there.

"Lovely relaxing holiday!"
Lovely relaxing holiday. Loads of space within hotel grounds and loads of free sunloungers. Fantastic range of food options and bustling waiting staff and credit to the cooks / chefs - thanks. Lovely pool - all lit up at night with fountains. No gym though and golf range is pretty basic. Rooms good (a little small), but have fridge and aircon (which switches off if you open the balcony door (as we discovered - it wasn't broken!)). We were top floor (419) at north end - overlooking tennis courts. Very quiet - maybe a bit noisier at other end. Lifts a bit of a squeeze and the one to the pool level was quite a wait sometimes. Lots of Germans, but no problem with that (get by in German more than Spanish). Lots of things for kids. Wifi expensive (each mobile / tablet has to pay separately - come on, this is the 21st century - make it free! And you need to pay for the safe too! Very helpful staff on reception when booking tours and checking buses. Highly recommended. Thanks! PS Used ResortHoppa for transfers - great!

"Valentin Blue Bay"
A great find and not what we were expecting. A hotel with individual chalets that were very comfortable with bedroom, bathroom and living room with small kitchenette. All basic but adequate. Good bathroom with excellent shower and plenty of hot water. The two swimming pools on site were excellent and plenty of sun loungers around the leisure pool. We went out most of the time but enjoyed the restaurant and bar. Food was good, plenty of it and lots of choice. There were set times for supper but nobody was really checking. Hotel was very popular with German parents and young famillies and they were a delight. There did seem to be German reps there organising activities but we didn't really find out what this was all about. The whole atmosphere was very relaxed, no excessive noise, ideal for famillies and couples. Not sure if teenagers would find it very exciting but plenty to do around the area. I would recommend a hire car as you get to see a lot more and saves on airport transfers waiting around. I would definitely go back again.

"Quiet comfort"
A lovely, peaceful break in a very nice hotel a convenient distance away from the bustle (although in October, much of the "bustle" has subsided. San Baulo is the quiet end of Can Picafort. It has many very good sea front restaurants and a good mix of sandy and rocky shore. At the north end of Can Picafort, the reed beds and waterways of the Albufera are a terrific contrast to the sea and sand of the beaches. The location is within easy reach (by car) of Pollensa and Formentor to the north, and the many callas to the south. For people with an interest wildlife, Salinas is well worth a visit. Birds which might be seen include flamingos, egrets and marsh harriers. Visiting at off-peak times of the year is wonderfully relaxing. I suspect that, in high season, the ambiance would be quite different!

"Can Picafort re-visited (our 2nd HONEYMOON!)"
We returned to Can Picafort for the first time since our honeymoon in 1973. It has changed, but for the better. We really enjoyed the promenade area along the beach and strrolled happily here past the bars and restaurant and, eating there . The beach is extensive and well kept. We were saddened to see our original hotel, the Son Baulo, closed. Is Thompsons refurbishing or will they knock it down? The beach area around Son Baulo is still wonderful and we had a nice drink in the seafront cafe. Our hotel, EIX Platja Daurada, was at the opposite end of town with easy access to the main roads to Palma, Inca and Alcudia. It is an ideal lkocation for expoloring, with easy access to Arta, Cala Radjada and the coast with the Caves of Arta and the Caves of Drac. We went to the Arta Caves, which were magnificent. We also visited Alcudia, Polenca, Cala Radjada, Arta and Inca. Inca market is huge, but there is not a great deal of diversity amongst the stalls - leather goods, jewellery, hats, belts, bags and wallets, watches, kitchen implements, flowers, fruit and vegatables, and a few with lace goods. Alcudia market is as good. Our hotel was excellent and we would stay there again. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The bar is very good, while breakfast left you spoiled for cholice. The pools and adjoining beach are magnificent. Majorca is great; the roads are greatly improved, but watch out for cyclists! It is also good to not have to pay to park! Make sure you try Tapas.

"Great if you speak German!!!"
Great location with good views and brilliant if you speak fluent German. Booking on Expedia.co.uk I expected English company within the hotel. Other than that the hotel and facilities were outstanding and the location was stunning. Be aware kids clubs start at 3+ if you are taking a small one and want a little break!

"Lovely beach"
We spent a week there with my 7 months pregnant partner, which was interesting to start with. The Hotel was great, only downside is its location as the transport from the airport took nearly 3 hours because it was the last drop off of the 18 hotels in the route, which was more then then the flight from London.. Food from Ok to good, plenty of fruits to eat if you go all inclusive, which i would recommend. The restaurant is facing the seaside which makes every meal a great pleasure. The beach was really nice, there was a rocky part nearby where you could see some fish if you are into snorkelling. We did not book a seaside room to save that extra money for excursions but we wish we had, as our room on the second floor was right above the little stage. Every night the singing and dancing had gone on till 11 - half 11 p.m., which was very annoying as we could not sleep, or even watch TV. The main clientele is german, which i did not mind, nice to talk without anyone understanding you. We are Hungarians by the way.. Definitely worth to see the beautiful Caves called Drach. It has the largest lake underground in Europe which is breathtaking. They give a classical concert like every 2 hours or so, on 3 slowly moving boat with changing background and underwater lights behind them. Truly unforgettable. The guide on the excursion was very professional and friendly, she was from Mallorca, never run out of an interesting story about it :). I would highly recommend the tour to anyone.

"Fourth Stay!"
Well as the title states this was my fourth visit to the hotel and probably millionth stay in Can Picafort Majorca! I can honestly say this is one of the better hotels in the area! I will start my starting some of the ... yes disappointing elements but i urge you to continue reading. This hotel has been standing since 1973 and had a refurb back in 2001 so needless to say it is due another and yes 2014 it is finally getting one! Lets hope they update the slowest lifts i have ever experienced in my life!! However, onto the good stuff! Well something had to keep me coming back! This visit I took my boyfriend along with me for the first time(on our very first holiday!) I can honestly say that he was a bit apprehensive when he first walked in as previously stated the decor is a bit dated (AT THE MOMENT). But as the holiday went on he was pleasantly surprised! So this hotel is perfectly clean and the general staff are friendly and helpful! The cleaning staff will do anything for you, even clean up when youre poorly(without a fuss! and then ask how you are the next day!) The food is standard for a currently 3star hotel but there is a wide variety to cater for all ages and nationalities! Piella, pizza, pasta, chips, meats, fish, rice, salad bars, burgers, hot dogs, mousakka and so much more Bar - yes two drinks a time but that is to get the queues down which they do very fast and you can go up as much as you like - ALL INCLUSIVE! but the most important thing is next.
