Vaqueros and vineyards mix in Camp Verde and surrounding valley. Steeped in Wild West history, Fort Verde maintains a group of historic military quarters from the late 1800s. During that era, ranchers began experimenting with grape growing. Today, Verde Valley is home to a few winemakers. Nearby, the Out of Africa Wildlife Park has a popular safari that includes mountain lions, tigers, and bears.
