I only stayed one night for £50. The hotel looks like a disused pub but on my arrival I was welcomed and expected.
The room was clean, basic but bright and pleasant. Very functional and uncomplicated, which I needed. I felt safe and comfortable. The bathroom/toilet was clean and plenty of hot water. I came with nothing so appreciated the toiletries provided. I slept well. Couldn't get the TV working as no signal but not a problem.
Breakfast was lovely, plenty to chose from, tables nicely laid and lots of choice including fresh bread, cheese, fruit and pastries. very nice coffee. It was a pleasant surprise as the exterior belies the interior.
Had a great stay was a budget hotel but was in a great location not far from camden town 5 mins bus ride or 15 mins walk , friendly staff , room was very clean and tidy , over all was a good value for money for the location in london!!!
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and treated very well. We stayed in Room 4 which was separate and different from the other rooms. It was very large and comfortable! We stayed in this area to be closer to our daughter but would definitely return. The park was beautiful and it was nice to be in a neighborhood atmospjere. We did not eat dinner at York and Albany but certainly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and lunch. If you want a unique boutique hotel experience, this is a great place.
It wss close to the underground.. the 24 hour desk staff were extremely helpful WiFi only in public areas. Was a bit nosiy at night. I did not try the breakfast but saw people eating and it looked fine. I would stay there in the future.
We loved staying at Charlies. Friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast, comfy room. Great old fashioned, no frills B and B. Just what we wanted. If you want a high-end place, this is not for you. If you want home away from home friendliness and a cosy space, you will enjoy this
I wanted to come to Camden for a few days, mainly as I was going to a concert at Koko on one of the nights. This hostel was only a 5 minute walk from the venue, right on the high street with friendly, helpful staff and amazingly cheap rates compared to any nearby hotels. We had our own room (with a bunk bed) and I was pleasantly surprised to discover we also had our own toilet and shower. The beds were comfortable and warm and we felt safe and secure. I also liked that anyone staying was entitled to food and drink discounts in the bar below. The food was great and reasonably priced too. I would definitely return to this hostel if I visited the area again and I would recommend it to anyone who can't afford a hotel and wants a convenient location.
