Out of Town - Not out of place

Posted 30-Jul-2014
Pros: As above.
Cons: May seem petty, but I've had fluffier and nicer smelling towels in cheaper hotels.
Location: Cambridge has much to do, and to much to oust here.
Couldn't find a reasonably priced hotel in Cambridge. This was a much better option and great facility; rooms good, breakfast hotel standard but all you need and staff were excellent.

Spa/Resort Hotel Close to Cambridge

Posted 30-Jun-2014
Pros: Spacious rooms. Good ambience. Great restaurant and bar.
Cons: Could hear our next door neighbours talking and watching TV. Better wall insulation would be good.
Location: 7 miles from Cambridge. What more can I say?
Visited the hotel to attend an Alumni dinner in Cambridge. Found the Belfry to be a very relaxing spa/resort hotel 7 miles from the center of the city. Easy access to central Cambridge by taxi. Very pleasant and accommodating staff. Good bar/restaurant. All in all a very great value for money.

Does the basics well

Posted 23-Jun-2014
Pros: The staff are very friendly, the beds are comfortable and the showers are great.
Cons: The evening meals in the restaurant are not the best. Breakfast above average though.
Location: In the middle of nowhere. Cambourne won't be to everyone's taste.
This hotel isn't going to win any awards for glamour, or proximity to Cambridge, but if you're stuck for somewhere to stay and don't think of it as anything more than a motel then it's absolutely fine.

Well situated for Cambridge - 15 minutes by car to

Posted 11-May-2014
Pros: Location, generally very quite, nice leisure centre, very helpful reception staff, especially George
Generally very good, but Breakfast on the last day (Monday) was almost completely ruined by the volume and type of "music" being played. I requested twice for the volume to be turned down but this was only done when I finally got up to ask for a 3rd time. No-one wants to listen to electronically generated white noise at 07.30 in the morning. Some of us like to talk to our breakfast companions, not have to shout at them in order to be heard!

Good all-round business/leisure hotel

Posted 08-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed here for 1 night with my son whilst visiting a Cambridge University open day. It's about 20 minutes out of town at Cambourne - a new modern mini-town. The hotel is modern with easy free parking and a leisure facility including spa, and a good sized pool and well equipped gym. It is clearly used as wedding and business meeting/conference venue too. The restaurant has a fairly limited menu, but good quality food - there does not appear to be a "bar food" option. Prices for food and drink are typical for a 4 star property. Room prices are quite reasonable for what you're getting - you pay a lot more for lesser standard in Cambridge city centre and you'd have to pay to park there too. Rooms are clean, and large, bathrooms have separate shower cubicle and bath. It is well maintained, but also well used, so give it a couple of years and it will need a spruce up, but at the moment it's still is good in condition. Recommended.

Great stay

Posted 28-Apr-2014
Pros: The staff and the facilities
Cons: More staff in the bar when busy
Location: Handy for Cambridge and Newmarket, not a lot to do in the immediate locality
We had a wonderful stay. Comfortable room; good facilities, enjoyed the spa, good breakfast and very friendly staff. Will definitely recommend and hope to stay there again. The staff could not have been more helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi.

Convenient location, for Cambridge and Huntingdon

Posted 23-Apr-2014
Pros: Location good. Supermarket nearby. Easy parking
Cons: Fridge in room would be useful, and room fittings are made for one. Courtyard space lacks attention, and could improve the ambiance, with little work.
Location: Easy access to Cambridge, by bus from Hotel, or using park and ride at Madingley Road about 5 miles away.
Hotel has good facilities, serves excellent breakfast, and has nice spacious rooms. The bar is rather bare and uninviting.

Nice hotel but not close enough to cambridge

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: Good service
Location: We thought it would be on the outskirts of cambridge but it was about 10 miles away which was a shame
A nice spacious hotel with friendly staff and plenty of facilities
