I stayed here with my 2 children and, on entering the room, my daughter was reduced to tears. We, by no means, have high expectations, usually staying in Premier Inns but were really disappointed with this hotel. Although the room was reasonably clean, having to pass the pub toilets in order to access the stairs to the room was unpleasant and the dark and dingy corridors in which the room, toilet and bathroom were situated put my children off going to the toilet and they refused to shower. The room at night was noisy with noise coming from the pub downstairs, the street outside and then other residents going to bed about 2 o'clock in the morning and the constantly flashing belisha beacon outside was not conducive to a good night's sleep. Although the staff were pleasant and helpful, eating breakfast in a pub lounge accompanied by a parrot and Emmerdale at an annoyingly high volume, next to a poster warning people about the threats of domestic violence was not a great experience.
This is the first review I've written but felt the need to express my disappointment. I'm glad I was only staying one night and think the hotel and Expedia should reconsider their description of the hotel.
