“Somewhere we would definitely return to with pleasure”

The staff at the hotel were all welcoming and helpful without exception, to a degree I have rarely experienced, and spoke very good English. They appeared to approach their work with real commitment and enthusiasm, which was a pleasure to experience. The hotel is beautifully designed and maintained and the pool , gardens and small beach are excellent. The food was very good, with a superb choice at breakfast and a fine buffet at lunch time. The hotel is near the motor way and access to Palma, the airport and all other attractions is very easy. We had a very enjoyable stay, and this is a hotel I would certainly be very pleased to return to. Highly recommended.

“Impressed”

Staff is personable and friendly. An expensive hotel, but worth the price. Has its own private beach, small but perfect for what I desired. In close proximity to the airport and Palma. Our room had a perfect sea view, very clean, and the bathroom was huge even for the standard room.

“Hotel”

I visited in July and was surprised to find many Brits at the hotel. Typically I have found myself surrounded by German speakers in Mallorca So Anglophiles take note. The hotel is clean and decent. The views and grounds were nice. I would give it 3.5 stars overall, if I compared it to a U.S. chain. That's not really fair though and highly subjective but that's my take. The breakfast buffet was average and the food was pricey. I ordered a veggie burger and it was god awful. There are less expensive and better quality dining options a short walk from the hotel. The room service and housekeeping service was a bit slow at times. I had to call reception and room service twice for nearly every request. I think they didn't really understand me when I explained my requests in English. I am not sure. The spa was ok. My massage therapist seemed to be in a rush. She moved quickly and was a little brusque. It was a little difficult to relax. She was however competent. After getting nearly 200 euro worth of treatments (that was only 2 services) I wanted to get in the sauna for like 5 minutes. The attendant initially wanted to charge me the customary fee for using the tin sauna, steam room (like 22 Euo). When I said I just wanted to use it for 5 minutes she said ok. If you spend money on treatments the sauna and steam room should be discounted or better still free. That's just my thinking. I'm critical but I would go back again!

“Impressed with Service”

We went for our honeymoon and we really enjoyed the hotel. They had everything we wanted from entertainment to spa services. We were happy with the free wifi in the room, house keeping services twice a day, 24 hr fitness center, modernized feel to the hotel, an amazing view from the balcony, any differences in hotel bookings were handled with care, depending on your finances it might be worth getting the upgrades in package which includes breakfast buffet (pretty good), spa services, happy hour buffet (not bad), and a one day rental of beds in the garden. They can exchange money, plan boat excursions, snorkeling, para-sailing, and we were provided with a doctor when we needed it. Its also great that most of them speak English at the hotel. They also have supermarkets near by to purchase snacks and drinks and there are beaches about 10-15 minutes away in walking distance. Some of the cons about the hotel is that the bathroom does smell a little bit, poor water pressure in the bathroom, not too many restaurants in walking distance, and some of the food without the upgraded package can be expensive. Just for information you should go sometime in July and contacting them before April is worthless because they are not open before the first of April. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and they surpassed our expectations.

“Great Hotel and Location”

Perfect Hotel for a short break or longer stay. Rooms, facilities, service and food all first class. Staff very helpful and friendly. Proximity to Airport and City of Palma a bonus due to short transfer time and ease of visiting Palma either by bus or taxi. We only stayed for 3 nights over a weekend but came back relaxed and refreshed. Will probably go back for another long weekend later in the year.

“Refined hotel with excellent service”

We were treated to complimentary drinks and healthy snacks upon arrival, which set the tone nicely. Every staff person at Melia was friendly and helpful, the room was fantastic for the value, and the grounds really couldn't be beat for the area - uber clean, modern, while keeping the natural rocks and tree-filled surroundings. My husband and I were getting married on the island, and were able to visit many guests' hotels in the area - we were very happy with our choice. We were looking for a refined, yet relaxed hotel - and found it!

“Great chill out hotel!”

Loved the hotel, bit different, room was great, with lovely lighting and a bit special. The resort and the immediate area does not have a lot going for it, but if you just want to chill out you dont need to leave the hotel really. Lovely setting with a private cove and a view of boats and ships crossing all day to Palma. Very tranquil. Staff were very friendly. All in all a lovely stay.

“Perfect spot for relaxation”

The Melia de Mar was perfect for check in to check out. No issues at all at the resort - staff were friendly and helpful, the resort both inside and outside were clean and well-kept. The location outside the city was perfect for us to stroll the countryside but near enough to explore the city. Lots of little cafes nearby as well as the golf course just a couple minute drive away. Pool was a bit chilly but the sea was gorgeous. Would definitely stay here again.

Traveller's tip

Lots to do just a bus ride away - take the city bus into Palma and explore the many shops and cathedral or take the Inca shopping bus to the market and enjoy bartering with the local merchants for deals.

“Highly recommended - fantastic hotel, service and staff.”

Great Hotel. Rooms of a very high quality, all staff were very friendly and helpful in all respects. There is not a lot to do in the immediate area, but if you are looking for a great place to pamper, unwind and get away from it all this is fantastic. Hotel private Beach is really non existent (enough for about 7 beds), but 12 Euro taxi to Palma Nova gives you some nice Beach Walks.

Traveller's tip

Walk to port and eat at small port restaurant that is good value and great setting.
