“Excellent hotel and staff”

The food was extremely good and apart from the breakfast, reasonably priced. Breakfast was expensive but kept us going all day without need for a midday meal. The hotel staff were friendly helpful and courteous and most spoke good, often colloquial, English. We would certainly use this hotel again.

Area recommendations
We went specifically to visit the Normandy landing areas. There were numerous well presented museums mostly situated on the actual spots in question. We did not have the time to investigate many other promising venues in the locality both relevant to our main reason for coming and unrelated to it.

“Mercure is basic but Ok”

This Mercure was our first stop on a trip to France. The rooms were basic but livable. The inhouse restaurant was over priced but had decent food. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Overall, I would give this place a B.

Traveller's tip
Don't miss the World War 2 landing beaches about 30 minutes away. A very sobering piece of history awaits and it is comforting to see how much America's involvement in WW2 still means to the people of these communities.

“Mercure Caen Cote de Nacre Herouville Saint Clair”

Comodissimo come base per visitare la Normandia. Ampio parcheggio. Vicinissimo alle autostrade e superstrade. Tranquillo, pulito, silenzioso.

“Perfetto per ripercorrere le tappe dello sbarco in Normandia”

Situato poco fuori Caen, è ideale per chi ha l'auto. Struttura semplice e carina, personale gentilissimo che fornisce mappe e informazioni per vivere e visitare al meglio la Normandia. Buona colazione. Consiglio di visitare il Museo Memoriale di Caen e poi ripercorrere le fasi dello sbarco da Utah beach. Molto toccante la visita al cimitero americano.

“Personnale sympa mais hôtel pas top”

cet hôtel n'est pas d'un niveau 3 étoiles : - pas d'ascenceur pour accéder aux étages - aucune restauration possible après 22h, pas même un distributeur automatique ou un mini bar Par contre, le personnel est adorable et tente de compenser les défauts de l'hôtel : ouvre les portes, dépanne d'un cas etc ...

“Naja”

Hotel liegt ziemlich abgelegen. Die Preise für ein Steak mit Pommes liegen bei ca. 25 Euro was mir persönlich zu teuer ist. Die Zimmer sind für den Preis äußerst klein, aber für französische Verhältnisse sauber. Internet über W-Lan kostet ca. 4 Euro pro Std.

“Bonnes impressions...”

Hotel très agréable, confort des chambres, silencieux, confort de la literie. Petit bémol pour le décor qui vieillit mal(moquette papier peint). petit déjeuner coûteux.
