We came to Normandy to visit the DDay sites and take a guided tour. The hotel was centrally located, reasonably priced, and comfortable. The staff was excellent and the continental breakfast was superb

Good location

Posted 10-Jun-2014
Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating, allowed us an early check in and honored our requests. We had 2 rooms; small but manageable. Clean but could use some updates. Great location, walking distance to lots of restaurants, Norte Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, and metros.

Very clean, spacious room

Posted 23-Sep-2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed in Hotel le Mulberry. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was huge by European standards. It was very comfortable. The staff was all very nice and the breakfast quite good. It is important to know that you will need to eat early in this town--we arrived at 9:30 and could not get anything to eat, even from the restaurant attached to the hotel. If you would like to eat at the hotel's restaurant, you must make a reservation early in the morning or a day in advance.

Can't say enough, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Pros: quiet, small and definitely a taste of France without the tourist fluff and hard sell.
Cons: church bells, seriously, right out side the windows, a quaint surprise. Be prepared, I enjoyed it but not everyone is a morning person.
Location: Northern end of the Normandy beaches, Port Winston and the Embarkment Museum.
After a week in Paris, 6 days in Provence, it was wonderful to be out of the way in Arromanches. Perfect place away from the hussle and bustle, although the church bells waking us up at 7am were a definate surprise, but depends what you are looking for in a French Inn. We checked in, had the best meal of our trip cooked by our hostess, easily better than the high priced meals we had in Paris, great continenatal breakfast and the checkout and off to the Normandy beaches. I definitely would stay there again, and if I had more time to explore the region, would base out of here. Come back to a wonderful meal in the evenings, clean, tidy, rooms and great staff. Quick breakfast, or hang around and enjoy it before starting a WW II day at the beaches or off to find what the countryside has to show you.

Superb bed, great breakfast, strong smell of mold

Posted 31-Jul-2013 on Hotels.com
Once I got past the very strong smell of mold and chemicals to fight it, the room was great. This particular downstairs room lacks sufficient ventilation of shower moisture. Your nose stops noticing after a few minutes, then you can enjoy the outstanding mattress. This is a mom and pop business and they're doing the best they can. You can feel good about supporting their efforts. Breakfast includes squeezed orange juice and outstanding bakery bread.

Nice small hotel in good location

Posted 30-Jul-2013
Arromanches-les-Bains is a good location for visiting Normandy, with easy drives to Caen, Bayeux and the Normandy Beaches, and a short walk down the street to the Mulberry Harbour and Museum. We stayed for 3 nights. Our room at Le Mulberry was around the back of the main building. It was spacious and comfortable with easy parking around the back of the hotel near the church. The church bell was not an issue for us, and quite a nice way to start the day. Breakfast was nice and they were also able to provide gluten free bread on request. Christian kindly gave me the rest of the packet to take to our next destination. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed the week we were staying there, so we were unable to try it out. Christian, the host, was able to help out with suggestions for eating, including a good suggestion to visit Port-en-Bessin for seafood. Le Mulberry is good value for money and all you need for a short stay in Normandy.

The Advantage of Staying at a Family-Run Hotel

Posted 20-May-2013 on Hotels.com
Father and son came to stay here, and one bed was booked by mistake. The friendly management upgraded us for free to the family room, and always had a smile whenever we walked through the reception area. Breakfast was great, excellent overall experience!

Historic location and terrific food!

Posted 20-Apr-2013 on Hotels.com
Arromanches, the hotel location, is indelibly associated with D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. The remains of the huge concrete "Mulberry" harbours can be seen out to sea. Besides that however, this hotel is inexpensive, very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Finally the food is terrific, beautifully prepared and presented. Highly recommended.
