This hotel is definitely a good, safe, and cheap choice for an overnight from the airport. On very short notice they arranged a pick up from the airport, and someone was at the front desk at 3:30 am when we had to leave for our flight the next morning. The rooms were clean, the shower was hot, and it had all the necessary amenities to make the layover pleasant.
Since our plane got in very late at night we were thankful to have this hostel close by. We don't recommend paying for an airport pickup because the driver did not leave to get us until we found a pay phone and called the hostel (defeating the purpose of a pre-arranged pickup). The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely. We enjoyed it in an outdoor courtyard. The room did not feel secure, as it had sliding windows. Also, the pillows were bumpy. On the other hand, the room was clean and included a towel.
The hostel is located in an area close to the airport in an infamous Lima slum. Stay here if you want to be close, but don't tell your mother, and come and go by taxi.
Conveniently located just 5 minutes from the airport, the Hostal Las Fresas in Lima Peru is the ideal accommodation for a …More
Hotel was clean and family was very nice. Good place to stay if you need to be close to the airport (leS than 5 minutes by taxi) The location is little sketchy but it's hard to avoid if you want to be near the airport.
Our flight was late (nearly midnight). Airport transportation was $60 US, even though the place is close to the airport. The driver did not know the hotel and had a hard time finding it. We had to wake the clerk when we got there. However, the room was available and clean. The place is low-budget and there was no hot water in the shower until the clerk turned on the water heater the next morning. However, the room was clean and the clerk arranged for transportation back to the airport for our flight to Cusco the next morning for about $7.00 (20 soles). The hotel is in the warehouse district, a tough part of town. But it is clean, the clerk was helpful and over all it was a good value. Some ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful if you want to stay at Hostal Hostello. Get some Peruvian currency (Sol) from an ATM or exchange at the airport before you check in. Everything is much more expensive if paid in dollars.
Arrived late in the night...was greeted and shown room...invited to the included breakfast...I slept through breakfast...was offered a light snack at lunch...as I went out to see the city, I was offered a mobile phone(FREE of CHARGE) and given an overview of what to see and do in Lima...OVER THE TOP in customer service...Accommodations were in line with the price paid (2nd lowest in Lima)...OVERALL AWESOME experience and would definitely stay again when in LIMA...
