“Close to location I need to be.”
I'm satisfied with the hotel all around. It is close to where I work. Would stay here again.
“Calgary business”
The Sandman provided a perfect combination of convenience and service for my business trip
“Good for business Travelers on a budget”
The Sandman is located on the edge of downtown. Very good for business travellers on a budget, but very quiet at the weekend, as one would expect. The hotel is looking a little tired but the rooms are in good condition. The restaurant is fairly average but the staff is very friendly. I will be returning as I feel is is good value as a business traveller.
“So, So in Calgary”
It was a place to sleep downtown. Calgary is not noted for hotels of any great shakes, this is not one of the more noteable ones. Stayed there because there wasn't anything else left.
“very impressed”
i had a great stay at the sandman hotel was quite even no the train line is right across the road. The hotel itself was clean and tidy i had problems getting into my room and maintenace was up within the minute to fix the problem which i was very impressed with, staff very friendly and helpful.
“Dated but a good backup”
Staff were extremely friendly. The Sandman suffers from a few issues that most 'dated' hotels have. But my main concern is the internet service. The hardwire connection was useless so you need to use the wireless. It's so slow that my browser would time out with fairly routine page loads. Since it's a 3rd party service, your only option is to deal with outside support. Connecting back to the office thru VPN is a non-starter and downloading or sending attachments thru browser email is painful. That's pretty much unacceptable in today's environment. The internet comms is critical to me on business travel so this issue alone will prevent me from staying there again.
“Great Calgary Spot”
The only problem... don't drive an truck to this holiday... the parking is not set up for an Truck
“Great Location near C-Train”
Great hotel just caution that address of hotel is actually a restricted ave. for C-Train. Approach on the street side. Other than that the hotel was clean, convienient and staff very helpful. I would definatley return.
“you always get what you pay for”
Was in Calgary for business and spent one night at Sandman hotel. The concierge staff was friendly and courteous, was surprised to notice how dirty was the floor in the lobby, you would think that at least the main lobby should be cleaned often.... Elevator was old but who cares...as long as it works. Room was nothing special but clean, not a big an of soft (really soft) bed....but in the end I slept recently. Room are not soundproofed, you can hear the train through downtown rolling by pretty loud. Right outside you have MacDonald, Subway, Mac convenience, Tim Hortons and a drugstore.....ALL YOU MIGHT NEED! !!! hotel needs dome renovations, looks old and feels old....doesn't reflect other Sandman properties
“Convenient, but otherwise kinda meh”
Older, very small rooms. Can hear tram outside. Convenient to public transport, at the very edge of the free zone
