“Very good”

Very spacious, updated and clean rooms. Service was excellent and friendly. I wish the hotel was a few blocks closer to the core, but not really a big deal. Generally very good all around.

Area recommendations
I've only stayed right downtown in Calgary for business reasons, and really enjoy it.

“Would not stay here again...”

It is not worth the twenty dollar saving or free parking. Pay the extra and stay in a better hotel in a better location. They advertise balconies... well if you like to drink your coffee watching a homeless person defecate then this hotel may be for you. Otherwise click on to the next suggestion and stay away from this Holiday Inn. Hope this helps!

“Fine for business trips - safety of location questionable”

Ver clean and comfortable hotel. The neighbourhood didn't feel totally safe, though. I would not have gone walking outside by myself, especially after dark. Since there is no restaurant/room service with the hotel, I felt I had to drive to find a restaurant for dinner.

“Nice and comfortable”

There's nothing wrong with this hotel. Nice staff, nice rooms, clean, what more could you want? Perhaps that part of the street is not perfect, but I haven't felt unsafe or anything. Great for short stays and citytrips.
