“I would love to go back to cairo again but thinking of changing the hotel.”

“Lovely hoel and staff.”
From the moment we got there, the staff could'nt do enough to help us. There was free beer/wine and snacks every evening in the executive area. Also free internet in that area all day and night, very handy as the wifi charge in the room was steep enough. Breakfasy really nice, a big selection, very fresh.Room was lovely, very big and comfortable, great TV selection, lots of movie channels. Would definately recommend this hotel.
“Arabian Family”
the trip was wonderful but the City was very crowded and suffer of pollution
“Beautiful room with balcony overlooking Nile”
Our room on the 15th floor was absolutely lovely - very large, with a balcony overlooking the Nile where we would often sit in the early evening marvelling at the chaotic traffic on the bridge below. The hotel is currently being renovated so a couple of the restaurants were closed and at the outdoor pool (on the 2nd floor) the noise from the busy dual carriageway below competed with the jackhammers demolishing a wall next to the pool. Still, the staff were lovely and very helpful. The concierge helped arrange train tickets for a day trip to Alexandria and also booked a tour to the pyramids at Giza for us (we were travelling on our own and not part of any tour group). The bank on the ground floor is open until 11pm or later and it was easy to change the 100 or 200 Egyptian pound notes we got from ATMs into smaller bills so we could pay for taxi rides, tip toilet attendants in local restaurants, etc. The restaurant in the lobby serves buffet meals but it's possible to ask for the a la carte menu. You need to take a taxi to get anywhere but there are always taxis by the back entrance (much better than main entrance on dual carriageway) and if you don't like what the first one is charging, you'll find a cheaper one a minute or two later. The only things really within walking distance are the Mr & Mrs Md Khalil Museum (with impressionist paintings but now closed for renovation) and the opera house and modern art museum. Given everything, we would definitely stay here again.
“Good hotel, also location is not bad”
This hotel was a very comfortable experience, the staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel was a peaceful experience amidst the bustle of Cairo outside. The hotel isn't located in the exact centre, but a taxi to the centre costs little and also walking across the Zamalek island to the centre is a possibility. The Opera metro stop is within easy walking distance. There is a pharmacy and credit card ATMs in the hotel, which may come in handy.
“very bad”
I did not expect that, its very bad because of the following 1- no free wireless access to the internet, and prices are very high 2- no free breakfast 3- no coffee maker or lelectrical liquid heater
“Old style Sheraton.”
Nice Hotel but it felt like my grandmas hotel. Good location. Better hotels for the same price.
“Don't stay here! Not even a 3*”
I arrived at the hotel about 12:45am to not be able to get into my room when I arrived. i was asked to wait 5 minutes. I went back to the desk 5 minutes later to be told they were doing last minute preparations - not sure what needed doing at that time of night. I did not get my room key until an hour later - when travelling for business this really is not acceptable as I had to be up the next day early. I was told the hotel was running at 125% capacity - not an acceptable excuse is it. The room was ok but the bathroom was dirty Reception staff didn't care about their customers and were very rude
“Wonderful view of the Nile”
Sheraton was nice. Our balcony view was great. We stayed in Nefertiti Tower, the newer tower of the sheraton. It was the last days of Ramadan so we really spent quality time in the room with the exception of the our visit to the pyramids and the sphinx. WARNING.The people will try to beat you out of more money than their services are worth.Overall we had a great trip but one incident made me angry. We rented a camel and a horse and we were quoted 200 US dollars for each person. As we took off for our tour we asked some other tourist how much they were charged and the same people we rented from charged them 100 US per person. After reading him his rights we only ended paying 90 US.Also say NO to anything given to you in the streets especially at the pyramids.A guy gave us head wraps to wear and we thought it was a part of the package and then he became irate because i wouldnt pay 100 pounds= 20 US dollars for it.The economy is poor so people have a great hustle.Be careful for all the beggars and negotiators in the streets. Use the hotel taxi or find you one taxi to stay with you for the day.Quote him a price thats good for you and dont pay him till the day is over, because you may get left.I want to give to you want I experienced so that you can judge how you want to enjoy Cairo. Also, the Sheraton has a small casino.I live in Kuwait by way of America so I hadnt been able to gamble or drink and I enjoyed that tremendously.
