“wonderful place!”
I found that the staff was very helpful. I had breakfast buffet every morning and it had a wide range and variety of food to appeal to everyone. Wifi is excellent with little cost so keeping in touch with family and friends was easy.Everyone spoke english so I didn't feel out of place and was made to feel very comfortable. Will go back again.!
“Would definitely go back”
Saw a mixed bag of reviews before we left, but we enjoyed ourselves so much I can't imagine what levels of luxury or impossible standards one or two moaning reviewers have! Hotel is four star even by european standards. Room impeccable and cleaned thoroughly and punctually every day. All costs are good value by European standards but expensive by Egyptian standards. Taxi to Giza was quoted as 150 Egyptian pounds one way from hotel reception and 60 when we walked to just outside the hotel gate and found a great guy called Mahmoud, who we used every day until we left to drive us! Hotel situated on American-style boulevard, so if you want to eat other than at the hotel you'll have to get a cab. Good choice of restos and room service in hotel. Breakfast buffet fab with everything from pancakes to cereal to hot cooked to Egyptian goodies. So plentiful we ate breakfast and then nothing until dinner! Big pool complex, gym and a bar. Standards of service very high and they take a pride in it. Would recommend.
“Can't wait to go back. Best customer service.”
Upon arrival was greeted by waiting personnel at entrance inside hotel. Reception was exceptional and quick check-in and transfer to room by courteous staff including carrying me and bags to room. Spacious accommodation, very clean and comfortable. I recommend this hotel close to pyramids and access to other attractions. Staff made me feel like a somebody.
“Close to the Pyramids”
Although this hotel was far from the airport (about 1 hour drive), it was close to the Pyramids and was a fantastic location. Highly recommend it!
“great place to have peace and quiet.”
even though the hotel is far from all the attractions in the city, it is a nice and comfortable place to be at.
“A lovely resort hotel with wonderful service”
I was in Cairo for business, and I stayed at this hotel because it was near my client's place.I wasn't expecting much, as I had read some mediocre reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised: the room was large and spacious, the facilities were beautiful, the food was terrific, and the service was great. Even the food from room service was hot and tasty, and it arrived promptly. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and the extensive gardens. The room was nicely furnished, with a good-sized desk for my work. There's a lot of dust in this area because of the dryness, so the room was a bit dusty, but the bathroom sparkled. The breakfast buffet had a huge number of choices, plus a chef who cooked omelettes to order. It was fun to look through the huge glass windows and watch the chefs prepare the baked goods from scratch. Drawbacks: the hotel is on the outskirts of Cairo, so it takes about 45 minutes to get to the city; on the other hand, it's nice to get away from the confusion of Cairo. Also, the in-room internet charges are a rip-off, and there's no free WiFi anywhere on the property. This is a wonderful place for relaxing--and even for working!
“A fantastic hotel”
The hotel offers a welcome sense of calm and relaxation which is a perfect backdrop to the 'busyness' of Cairo itself. The facilities are brilliant and the hotel staff go out of their way to ensure that your stay is as enjoyable as it can be. Service in the restaurant was fantastic, as too was the choice of menus available and, I feel, very reasonably priced. I would recommend making use of the spa facilities during your stay as again, it simply enhances the sense of being able to relax even further, irrespective of what your reason for staying may be.
“Lovely, helpful staff”
The hotel room was a little 'tired' looking but the public areas were nice and well looked after especially the gardens and it woukd make a great place to relax. If you want a non smoking room then you should make this clear. As a business user I was very disappointed with the internet speed, no iron in the room (although there was an ironing service) and no in room tea and coffee making facilities. However the staff were wonderful, eveyone smiled and said hello no matter what their job and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. The breakfast selection was overwhelming - so much choice and it all looked good. I ate an evening meal buffet which was very good with a wide selection and I also had a meal at the bar which was OK. This hotel is 45 mins from Cairo centre (on a good day!) but I was working in October City so this wasn't an issue. Just one other point, the Mall of Arabia is about 15/20 mins away by car and the hotel wanted to charge me 220 Egyptian pounds for this trip, when I told the people I was working with they said it should be more like 30 Egyptian pounds - now I don't mind paying a 'tourist/hotel' rate but that was a blatant rip off so beware! All in all I would stay here again on account of the helpfulness of the staff and the well kept gardens and public areas and wouldn't have any reservations about recommending it.
“Nice place - lacks a bit of atmosphere”
Comfortable enough with friendly staff. Located about a 1 hr ride from downtown Cairo unless it's rush hour - make that 2.5 hrs. Free bus service to Giza pyramids and downtown 3 or 4 times daily. Lacks a bit of atmosphere as most people are part of enormous tours arriving and leaving en masse in their own coaches, not staying for long.
“Not bad”
The resort is huge and miles from the centre of cairo and the airport, which means it's relatively quiet, compared to staying in Cairo itself but means you haven't got much to do other than stay at the complex, continually expanding Moevenpick's wallets everytime you want a coke, unless you venture downtown. Facilities are excellent: massive swimming pools, tennis courts, gym, etc etc. Restaurant choice is limited and dining at the resort is pretty much the only option as there is nothing near it. The main restaurant is a hot buffet which is expensive for the quality, no where near the 5* of the rating. Service is unbearably slow all the time - forget having a 'quick lunch'. Tables never laid out properly. Ages before any coffee arrives at breakfast. The room we had though was fantastic, modern, extremely clean, huge comfy bed, amazing shower. Free shuttle bus to and from the pyramids and Cairo city centre (stops next to the museum) which was extremely useful as it's about an hours drive in the day time. The quality of the room and the shuttle made this a good place to stay.
