Misleading upgrade option

Posted 22-Sep-2014
Average hotel. Upgraded to a junior suite upon check-in, based on a picture at reception depicting modern linen/room however bedspread / sofa etc was old fashioned and bathroom was tired. The staff member was very pleasant and nice. I'd rate this hotel 3 star, not 4 stars.

Close to the train and bus station. Helpful and friendly staff. Cafe open throughout the day with a variety of menu items.

Nice place...

Located just off the main road on the east side of the old city. Easy walk from the train station. Internet in the lobby. Room was comfortable and clean. Like anything in any of the Medina's anywhere, it was a little tricky locating it, but the walking distances are all short.

Great hotel in the middle of Cadiz

Posted 12-Apr-2013
Pros: Close to everything, friendly helpful staff, quiet.
Location: Close to city Centre
Great location in the centre of Cadiz. Staff very helpful and speak good English. Our room was very quiet, large and comfortable. Booked on a room only basis, Hotel cafe very good value for tostada, cafe con leche and Zumo (when they have it). Loads of places to eat in and around Cadiz. The Marine bar in plaza de Flores does very good Churros con chocolate. I recommend this hotel.

A good hotel for sightseeing.

Pros: It's location and the fact that it was quiet.
Cons: None.
Location: Quiet and convenient for exploring Cadiz.
It is a conveniently located hotel up a reasonably quiet little street near the port area. Although we didn't use it unfortunately, it does have a spa in the basement that looked really nice and a pool on the roof; the latter was closed when we stayed (end of March 2013). It is open during the summer apparently. There is a good choice of breakfast, either a simple little cafe where the breakfast is cheap or a 10 euro per person buffet; we went for the latter and it was OK. The staff were very accommodating and gave us a room at the back of the hotel where it was as quiet as it could be given the proximity to Easter.

Very nice hotel in Cadiz, conveniently located near bus and train stations. Unfortunately does not qualify for Welcome Rewards. Very nice foyer/atrium area and the breakfast was very nice, although not included in the initial price.

Awful hotel

Posted 13-Nov-2012
Quite possibly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The bed linen had holes in it, the staff were rude and surly, the rooms were dirty, the cutlery and crockery in the restaurant were filthy, the sensor lights in the corridors did not work and their centrepiece glass lift looks like it has not seen a cloth and water in years. Cadiz is one of my favourite cities in Spain, but this hotel is a disgrace to this great city. Avoid...

fabulous spa

All major sights are close by, but at the end of the day, the spa and pools were fabulous. Great to relax in warm water cavern like pools.

Excellent

The Hotel is perfectly positioned, a short Walk from Plaza de la Cathedral...indeed, from here, the wonderful narrow Streets and the many Plaza's of the Old Town open up easily for the Tourist wishing to explore beautiful and historic Cadiz. My Room was clean comfortable and had a few Extra's that one does not often enjoy in spain. I appreciated the Coffee and Tea making facilities, and my Daughter loved the Ceiling Fan! We had a Large Flat Screen TV with many International Channels...but we were usually too busy to watch TV! We spent a bit of time in the Pool Area with its wonderful views of the Rooftops of Cadiz. We also visited the spa which my Daughter loved...especially the Pool with the Oranges in! It was very well organised and great fun. We had Breakfast every Morning and can thoroughly recommend it.The Food was of good Quality, in fact Our Omelettes were made to Order and cooked fresh in front of us and served at our table, we were able to augment our order with Croissants and Cereals, Fruit and Yoghurt all available at the Buffet. The staff were truly excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble for them. The Chef was very good, incredibly hard working, and very kind to my Daughter. Cant wait to go back!
