“Great Staff and Room”

Amazing staff and service. Its not on the beach but a quick 3 minute walk and you are there. The room was large, clean and modern and one of my favorite hotels during my Spain stay. The internet worked well and I appreciated the supermarket that is right next to the hotel. I recommend this place whole heartedly.

Area recommendations
I enjoyed being near the beach and it was very convenient to either catch a cab or the bus. We chose the cab for convenience.

“Pretty/Clean hotel. Close to the beach”

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is a bit far from the old city, but a minute away from the beach. If we go back to Cadiz for the beach, we are going back there for sure.

“Satisfied with choice”

2 nights in Cadiz is fine as most of attractions we were interested in was in Old town. Hotel therefore was food location, only 15 mins from Old city and public transport is good from the hotel if needed. Missed not being able to drink tea and coffee in the room, when we wanted to, though room service is available

Area recommendations
Most hotels in new City, so location was fine. Restaurants, Cafes limited in location and eating habits are different, so difficult to find any dinner before 8.30 pm
When to go
October was good timing; comfortably warm/hot though expect some showers. Also not so crowded.
Must see
Thoroughly enjoyed the old city, and especially the Old Cathedral and the board walks

“Nice hotel in Cadiz”

Well maintained hotel near the beach and walking distance (ca 30 minutes) to old center of city. Good bus access. Not many places to eat nearby, though.

Area recommendations
Center City hotels would be more interesting unless one wants to be near the beach but I doubt that they are of the same quality

“Well-placed and comfortable, but not inspiring.”

The hotel is on the main road into old Cadiz and is close to the beach. Our room was very comfortable and the hotel has a cafe (sit on the pavement and watch the traffic!) Breakfast was nothing special and with only one waitress coffee could sometimes be a long time coming. Old Cadiz is within walking distance and there are buses as well. The immediate surroundings are uninspiring and restaurants are quite a walk into the furthest part of the old town or in the other direction by the beach. There is a garage, with valet parking if you wish.

Area recommendations
The old town is fascinating. We recommend just wandering around the streets within the walls, with visits to the various notable buildings, like the cathedral and the camera obscura. Jerez is in easy reach by car, with its cathedral, Alcazar and sherry bodegas.

“There during Carnaval”

We were there in mid-February during Carnaval. The hotel was about a 10-15 minute walk to the train station and old city gates. There's a transit bus that stops right outside of the hotel but we just walked. I'd recommend this if you're looking for a safe, clean place to stay. It's not a fancy hotel but we were happy with it.

“Good place to explore Cadiz”

The staff was really friendly with good knowledge of English and even German. I was very impressed with the choices and quality of the food for the breakfast buffet and the waiters were really trying to please. The hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the old city and it's a nice walk along the coast.

Traveller's tip
Make sure to take a phrasebook if you don't speak Spanish. Everyone is very friendly and tries to muddle through, but ordering food is certainly much easier with some basic knowledge of Spanish.

“It was okay”

We had some really helpful staff and some not. The rooms were clean, and in terms of helping us with concierge service, they were reticent.

“Hotel MontePuertoTierra”

I was very satisfied with my room and the location in Cadiz is convenient, but more importantly the staff, especially Isabel on reception, were friendly, helpful and professional and equally happy to converse in English or Spanish. I will be back.
