Fantastic property - if it's sunny! Sadly, we had 4 days of torrential rain for the 4 days we were visiting and there was very little to do. We had a 23 month old toddler with us and he wasn't allowed to use the soft play or use any of the toys in the kids club as the minimum age is 2. They then agreed that we could have 15 minutes at 10am in the soft play as there was literally nothing at all to do with him. There's very limited seating in the main bar so everyone spilled into the reception area before they opened the nightclub for somewhere for people to sit. Sadly, there wasn't any entertainment so we spent a lot of time in the room trying to keep our son occupied. It's such a shame as when the sun is out, im sure this is the perfect place.

Nice location. Everything has been renovated 5-6 years ago. Although was all inclusive I had hard time picking quality food from buffet. A lot of artificial stuff. Crowded. Mostly families from Germany and rest of Europe… Their policy with pool towels very annoying ….You have to use for one towel at the time ticket and limited hours when they dispense it. No gluten free options markings. Overall I would not go back.

I had an amazing time with my family. My 3 year old enjoyed all the kids facilities. Staff were very friendly and approachable. A long queue for check in, But apart from that, all was spot on.

Amazing Stay!
Overall the trip was amazing! They had many activities for the kids so that was a huge plus! My kids are 6 and 3 and they had a fantastic time! The buffets were great and everything was very clean!

Lovely break
We stayed for 2 nights and were very happy with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the resort. Everyone wore masks and we saw cleaners constantly cleaning common areas. The beds were very confortable even the sofa bed that the kids slept on. The beach is beautiful and one pool was heated so kids had fun

We had a very relaxing stay at the resort, the staff were very friendly and helpful and everywhere felt safe and the resort was kept sparkling clean. Beach is beautiful. Only point maybe to work on would be the quality of the food. A lot of fried food. Felt more like a cafeteria than a hotel restaurant

Our stay was great. Food was lovely, staff helpful and friendly. Room was great too. Amenities were good but the Liquid Bar should be for adults only as alcohol is served and small children are swimming and playing about in the pool on their own and due to COVID restrictions space is controlled making adults having to wait in a queue to go in.

Good hotel;some improvements to enhance experience
Overall pleasant stay but a bit overcrowded e.g. Andalus restaurant with only one food station meant long queues. Some tired facilities (broken chairs), but I understand that the hotel will be undergoing renovations for next season. Food quality was mainly very good. Wine quality was average, perhaps introduce wine list even if at extra cost. Entertainment was a mixed match, some shows were very good, magician and flamenco (better than many tourist oriented) content of one I felt was not suitable for children. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Look forward to the improvements.

This is a difficult review to write. Overall, we liked the Riu Chiclana better than this review will sound. The food was very good. The service staff friendly, helpful and charming. The rooms were clean, the pools were beautiful and the beach is incredible. However, there are some downsides. The hotel is an older property and is showing its age. It needs some major repairs and, possibly, some reconstruction. The rooms are small, windowless and claustrophobic. The air conditioning is older and doesn't work very well. Also, this is a resort for people who do not want to do anything but sit in the sun and relax by the water. The hotel is miles from anywhere you might want to visit and there is only one tour operator to speak with if you want to go off property. This tour operator has very limited offerings. The front desk staff is very nice and tries to be helpful but most of the information received about things that were not on the property was wrong. Overall the ClubHotel Riu Chiclana deserves 4 stars and I would give it 4.5 if I could but it isn't perfect.

Family stay 5 nights near Easter
Family 2 adults 2 kids age 6 and 8 all inclusive. Family room more like an apartment, bedroom kingsize bed, lounge two beds with cushions on easy to covert to sofas and good size bathroom. Rooms cleaned daily if required. Stayed early April pleasantly busy. Outdoor pools used by a few but not widely as too cold, indoor pool/jacuzzi excellent and open 8am-8pm. Shows on a nightime that my 8 year old inparticular loved. Food very good, wide choice. Guests predominantly German and Spanish but staff spoke some English if required so no problems although we tried to use our limited Spanish where we could. Very short and pleasant walk to excellent beach.Hotel friendly and family orientated.They had kids clubs and other activities for all daily but we didn't use them partly as not many English but mainly because plenty of other stuff to do (inparticular because we had a car) -hotel is a little isolated - no major centre to walk to. Parking not a problem outside hotel.When we picked the car up in Malaga the car hire staff knew of the hotel immediately. It has a good reputation and we could see why as we had a relaxing, comfortable and memorable stay.

Las habitaciones son buenas, pero las zonas comunes del complejo son excelentes. Piscinas bonitas y en abundancia, incluida la zona infantil. Pero lo mejor de todo el hotel es la comida del bufete (abundante y de calidad). Muy recomendable para vacaciones en familia.
