“Crap”
This hotel was below standard, I would not stay in here again. When the cleaner was moving the beds to clean in other room you could hear it, plus you can hear the traffic on the road outside. The neighbourhood was horrible that the hotel was in.
“Adequate”
Great location right across from the beach. About 1-1.5kms from Gib border. The immediate area is a bit run down and the hotel is a bit dated and worn, but overall was adequate for one night for the price.
“Adequate hotel for Gibraltar visits”
CityMar Hotel Mediterraneo is beyond its glory days and definitely needs to be updated, specifically the hotel keys, plumbing and sagging foundation (which shows in the dining room). Despite these flaws, it is adequate, located on the beach and very close to Gibraltar, where hotels are hard to find and expensive.
“Tired Hotel but adequate”
If you just need a place to sleep with hot water for showers, this is the place. It is tired and could use some updating but it was adequate. Most desk staff speak some English.
“Suited our needs”
Arrived very late after all day train and bus journey, helpful front desk fluent in English, woke up to fantastic ocean view. Short walk to Gibraltar, our focus. Good sized double, top (3rd) floor, elevator, clean, balcony, no fridge. Standard brkfst buffet; meats cheese cereal coffee sweets, plenty of it. Quiet area (in late October), not much nearby, one or two restaurants. 40 minute fixed rate taxi to Algeciras train station. I'd stay here again in a minute, but now I've been to Gibraltar so....
“Excellent location and service. Clean and cozy.”
The hotel is facing the sea. Beautiful view of the Gibraltar Rock. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient parking in front of the hotel. Clean and nice. Affordable - excellent alternative to more expensive Gibraltar's hotels. Would recommend it to anyone.
“More like a 2-star hotel”
Although the location is very good, the hotel building is in a poor condition both in the rooms and the common areas. Room furniture is low quality and the cleanliness was below average. The room smelled like it hadn't been used for quite some time. Does not deserve the 3-star rating.
“Perfect place for Gibraltar”
If you want to book an exursion make sure you do it in advance, buses to Ronda etc leave at 8ish in the morning so don't just turn up at the bus stop!!
“Nice hotel, thin walls”
Only major complaint is the very thin walls, it was impossible not to hear everything around the hotel.

L'hotel è una struttura molto vecchia. L'esterno è molto sporco (sacchetti dell'immondizia lasciati a fianco dell'hotel, mozziconi delle sigarette davanti la rampa di salita). I vetri della camera molto sporchi. La camera puzzava di muffa. Al piano di spora hanno spostato i mobili tutta la sera tardi impedendoci di dormire. La chiave si bloccava e la porta si apriva con difficoltà. La colazione assolutamente insufficiente con paste confezionate. Il personale quasi del tutto assente. Insomma, non è un albergo a 3 stelle.
