“Great location”
Easy walk - to beach, buses to Gibraltar and other places. Great views of the Rock!
“Best Hotel on La Linea”
Good Hotel. Only 10 mins walk to the border, quite a few tapas restaurants near the hotel, just ask reception for map. Breakfast amazing, huge selection of food. rooms decent size with a fridge and nice balcony.
“Convenient and adequate”
Generally acceptable hotel, pleasant staff and reasonable facilities. Exremely convenient for visiting Gibraltar - easy stroll to the border (5 minutes brisk walk and comfortably less than 10) Breakfast OK - wide choice of cold food. Cooked eggs left out a little too long and not kept very hot. Fruit juice not up to much but good coffee from espresso machine. Beds rather too hard Lifts quite slow and seemed to have a mind of their own - great for a mystery tour but got there in the end! One serious concern when I used the emergency stairs instead of waiting for the lift on the last day was that I noticed several doors were open and not self closing properly. The fire exits were well marked and emergency lighting/extinguishers appeared well maintained.
“Great hotel”
The name of this hotel implies that it is in Gibraltar, but it is in fact over the border in Spain (I should have realised when I was looking at the map of the hotel on the wesbite). However, the hotel is only about 10 minutes walk from the airport (if you walk fast) and our family of four had an interesting time crossing the border between Spain and Gibraltar many times over the course of our holiday. It also meant we had 2 hols in one because we were able to have 2 experiences for the price of one. The hotel was great - clean, quiet and comfortable with 4 sun ratings. We had a lovely view from our balcony and it was bliss sitting down with a drink looking out at the marina in the evening. The staff were friendly and polite, and we got good service. We went in October half term and only saw one or two other children. The clients were mainly older folk and tour groups, but this suited us fine. There is a small clean beach only 200m up the road, which was warm enough for us to go swimming in when sun was at its peak at 3pm, and we enjoyed lovely weather all week.
“Good for the price”
For the price this hotel was good. Clean and tidy rooms and smart communal areas. Great steak tapas in restaurant nearby called Patagonia - ask for directions - (the Patagonia tapas bar, not the Patagonia restaurant near the Irish Bar.)
“Good hotel, but lacks good hotel service”
Good modern hotel, Good location to the Gibraltar border, however the service and services at the hotel are below 2 star and not 4 star advertised, ie no internet in the rooms, no irons ( only 2 available in hotel ), no information packs in the rooms.
“Better than expected”
Having read previous reviews I was pleasantly supprised. The front office staff were very good, polite and helpful. The room was good as was the view and location for Gibraltar (about 15 Minute walk). The bed was extremely hard front office staff said all the beds in the hotel are hard and they have had numerous complaints but the only thing they could do was to put several blankets under the sheets. Not a great effect but better than nothing. Breakfast buffet nothing to write home about it was adequate however the clearing of dirty plates etc was very poor only on one morning was anything cleaned off of our table before we had finished. The area around the hotel is quiet run down but we always felt safe, its as though this area of spain is feeling the pinch. One thing to be aware of is that quite often workers decide to have a protest at the border and as a result the Spanish just close it. The locals advised me that this could last anywhere from a couple of hours to half a day so be aware that you could be refused entry or exit from Gibraltar.
“very well positioned”
Spent 2 weeks in this hotel and although the surrounding area did not have many things of interest for me, it was very handy for Gibraltar. ( Just a 10 minute walk away to the Frontier) The local bus station was just up the road, so day trips away, within Spain, were handy. The hotel itself is comfortable and the staff very helpful. Towels are available for use at the pool, for a small refundable fee. We had a room with a great view overlooking the marina and also facing Gibraltar. The meals were satisfactory on a buffet style. We would certainly go back, should the occassion arise.
“A dump”
it's a dump, nothing more to say.
“Excellenty views”
Hotel very good, All rooms had balconies and plenty with sea views. Large ample terrrace and pool. 15 minutes walking distance to Gibraltar border with easy bus service into centre of Gibraltar for £1-50 return
