“Wouldnt stay there again”
An average hotel, not worthy of 4 stars, in a very run down area. The room was small, the toilet was broken, no tea/coffee making facilities. The windows did not seal properly and on the last night there was a wind/rain storm and we couldn't sleep with the noise of the wind whistling thru the windows. Could not open the balcony door fully as it hit the bed. Breakfast was expensive. Too far to walk to the Frontier/Gibraltar therefore had to get several taxis a day. The dog across the street barked all day and all night. Hotel situated in a very poor area with high rise social housing, broken glass and graffiti. We ordered and paid for a room with a king size bed and got a double. Only 2 English channels and they were world news. There was a very small wardrobe but no drawers for clothes. Good points...free non alcoholic mini bar and free coffee in lounge during the day.
“Great location to cross to Gibraltar - if your feeling energetic”
The hotel was located approximately 30 minutes walk from Gibraltar, and was certainly a cheaper alternative to staying on Gibraltar itself. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and our room had a great view of the sea. Parking is readily available. We didnt eat in the hotel, but we did take advantage of the free wifi in the lounge and the free non-alcoholic mini bar in our room. Hotel staff were great in helping us to book a dolphin watching trip.
“Good value”
This hotel is a 5 euro taxi ride from the Gibraltar border and/or La Linea bus station. We stayed twice (coming and going) from Gibraltar and on each occasion got a smart room facing the Bay of Gibraltar. The standard is is high and the room would easily cost you 2 or 3 times as much elsewhere. There's a free (non-alcoholic) mini bar and friendly staff. We found breakfast at 8 euros extra pretty good vaule. There aren't many facilities in the surrounding neighbourhood but I'd expect most people would use this as a transit. On the whole, very good value
“excellent service”
The staff very very friendly, welcoming and easy going. Check out was midday so it was nice not to rush on the last day. The hotel had free wifi that you could use downstairs in the sitting area and they also had a computer with free internet. You could also purchase internet to use from your room. The hotel location was fine as I didnt mind the walk to the city centre, however you do need to allow 15-20 minutes.
“VERY HAPPY WITH OUR CHOICE.”
Stafff very helpful. Free mini bar and free snack and coffee/tea in morning. Very good location for visit to Gibraltar, and for an evening stroll by the sea. small shops round the corner and good supermarket within walking distance. Bus to Algeciras at end of road. This was excellent for us as we were catching the bus to Cadiz from there. Room very comfortable and airconditioned. Decor modern and new. Neighbourhood reasonably pleasant
“Top spot for Gibraltar”
Hotel was easy to find from Gibraltar airport, check in was easy and the room was clean and suited our needs. Free coffee was available when we arrived and the free minibar was a nice touch. Didn't use the pool or gym but would have if there had been more time. Plenty of different areas suitable for relaxing in. there are a couple of small shops selling pastries just around the corner if you don't want to pay the 8 or 9 euros for breakfast, and the centre of La Linea itself also had a few nice places just a few minutes walk away. Would definitely use this hotel, or others in the chain again.
“Nice hotel. Shame about the location and staff.”
The interior of the hotel looks good but it is located in a run down estate. The swimming pool is not the one pictured on their website - it is a much smaller one overlooked by a block of council flats where the residents of the flats throw rubbish in to it. On the website it mentions they serve food between 7:30pm and 11pm. At around 7:40pm I went down and there were no menus out so I asked one of the staff about food. He replied there was no food and asked if I wanted a coffee. I asked if food would be available later and he then told me what time breakfast was available the following day. I clearly wasn't getting anywhere with this member of staff but then a female member of staff appeared and produced a menu and informed me that food was available after 8pm. I went back to my room and returned at around 8:10pm. This time there were menus out on the table and a few other people sitting around waiting. I waited until 8:50pm and not one member of staff appeared so I gave up and didn't attempt to eat at the hotel on subsequent nights. The hotel did have a room service menu where everything was priced at higher rates than in the bar area so I assume they concentrate on providing a room service in order to make more money.
“cheaper option for visit to Gibraltar”
We stayed in La Linea because it was more affordable than Gibraltar. The hotel was about a 15 minute walk to Gibraltar including crossing the airport runway, which is cool. We had to wait for a plane to take off. Gibraltar is beautiful. We rode up in a private taxi. Nice guy, nice trip. Monkeys are adorable! View is spectacular.
“will be going back very soon lovely!”
lovely hotel , vey friendly staff only dissapointment was the onemeal we ordered . very very clean fantastic
“A good hotel”
We were very impressed with this hotel - everyone was very helpful. We paid a small extra amount for a superior room. It was well worth it for the space, sea view and balcony. The free soft drinks in the minibar were much appreciated. Breakfast was fine and the amount charged was reasonable. The swimming pool was very nice. Although overlooked by the adjoining properties, this was not a problem for us.
