I stayed with my family in D'sa motel in Jan 2014. The motel is located few minutes drive from the famous Eagle square and is surrounded by many Malaysian food hacker centers. It is also 5 minutes walk from the night markets and duty free shops.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. He showed us different rooms ans asked us to choose the one we like. The D'sa motel is actually into two different building on the same street. The one where the reception is located is a bit dark and also the rooms were filled with strong chemical odor. So we decided to take the room in the other building. Our room is on first floor facing the road. The room was clean and of decent size. The air conditioning worked well. There was a small TV in the room which we never used though. Also on the ground floor there is D'sa restaurant which serves variety of Malaysian food.
One thing you should note is it is very hard to find any vegetarian food around. We are vegetarians and we struggled a lot to find some food in near by hawker centers. Luckily one of the lady in the hawker center prepared vegetarian fried rice for us which turned out to be one of the delicious fried rice we ever had.
Over all the stay was comfortable and satisfactory.
I stayed at this guest house for four nights. It is a fine, nice and clean little place located three kilometrs from the city center. The guest house doesnt serve breakfast, but you get breakfast in a cafe very close across the street from the guest house. The ferry terminal is just a 1.5 kilometers away, and it is pretty easy to find when you ask the locals. I was very lucky to get a ride from one of the locals and she took me to the Amara Hotel instead. The guest house (and hotel under the same management), it is just 15 minutes on foot to the guest house. The guest house is locarted in a quiet neigbhoorhood and the price for a room is available for a very good value. There is a parking space available in front of the hotel at no additional cost..
Overall is was nice but then this motel lack for room service amenities. you will only provided by soap and towel one time only during staying, they done even change the towel, bed sheet and first night we don't even get pillowcase. Luckily the pillow is not smelly.
The room was clean and the bedding looked great. Located in between Kuah Jetty and Kuah town and hence walkable from both places. It was a homely environment and they offered laundry services including pressing at an affordable price. Of course, there were minor issues like squeaking beds and intermittent wifi disconnection. Overall, it was a good experience and Regalia was one of the reasons for extending my stay in Langkawi.
We reserved a room for 3, inclusive of breakfast. When we checked in we were very politely told that the room only had 1 queen bed for 2 and that if we wanted an extra bed and 3rd breakfast we had to pay RM50 for the bed and extra for the breakfast. Since we did not agree we were told that we have to call expedia and sort it out. We refused and told them they have to honour what was in the reservation. After about 20minutes of arguing, they eventually agreed we were right.
What kind of training are the staff given on web-bookings?
The buffet breakfast was terrible.
The room air-con leaked all-day and night. They did nothing about rectifying it.
I have stayed in this hotel when it 1st opened. It has greatly deteriorated.
The hotel is located on a back row in Kuah City but however one may cover the entire Kuah town by foot.
The receptionist of the hotel is very helpful.
The cleanliness of the hotel is superb.
The hotel is spacious in both the room area and bathroom.
The value for money of this hotel is superb.
As a plus point, the hotel provide car rental (Volkswagen Polo Sedan) for RM120 per day. As at April 2013.
Another plus point of this hotel is that there is a duty free shop just below the hotel and it is also owned by the hotel.
