Hi Lynne, thank you for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate the feedback. We have had some really warm, tropical days here in Byron Bay this January with not even the evenings/night cooling down like they usually do. Normally our ceiling fans we have in every room are sufficient. We look forward having you stay at Planula B&B the next time you come to Byron Bay. Tim and Wandy

Location: Tranquil, Close to everything, Good views
Facilities: Basic, Unpretentious, Modest; Value: Moderate; Cleanliness: Spotless; Close to the shops, however couldn't sleep at night as room was SO hot without air con

Hi Cassie, thank you for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate all feedback. Great that you loved the surrounds and the atmosphere at Planula. The beginning of January has been really hot for everyone and we are sorry to hear you were not able to get a proper sleep. Normally our ceiling fans we have in every room are sufficient. We look forward having you stay at Planula B&B the next time you come to Byron Bay. Tim and Wandy

A Traditional B&B set in the woods of Byron Bay

Posted 09-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com
The owners of the property were quite helpful and pleasant as other reviewers have stated. Unfortunately your experience here will completely depend on who you are sharing the property with. It is a 5 bedroom house converted into a B&B with shared kitchen and outdoor space. We had a nice breakfast enjoying the homemade bread (but it's just breads and cereals with a fruit bowl) however, the evening prior some guests were watching a movie very loudly until late in the common living space. Otherwise the place is very quiet, only nature sounds just hope you have pleasant guests. When we booked I thought it was quite expensive but it seems like the price was on-par with the rest of Byron. I imagine it would be even better in the off season when you could have the place to yourself or rent more rooms out with a bigger group. You really need a car to enjoy this place.

Good over night stop

Posted 21-Dec-2014
Pros: Communal lounge area
Cons: The heat in the bedroom was stifling.
Location: Out of the way, down an unmade road....only good if you have transport
We stayed for 2 nights at the Planula. It was fairly out of the way so you would definitely need transport to get to the main drag of Bryon Bay. Having said that, there was a beach in (long) walking distance which was deserted and beautiful. The room we had was very small, and hot even with the fan.... But the communal lounge area was comfortable, with plenty of books and CDs etc. Breakfast was different breads for toasting, with jams, peanut butter etc; fresh juice and muffins. We wouldn't choose this as a holiday stay perhaps, but ideal for a short stopover if you're passing through.

Thank you for taking the time to review our B&B. It is great to hear that you enjoyed the peace and quiet of our place. Unfortunately, the traffic into Byron Bay can be busy at times. As an alternative to using the car we do offer cheap bike hire so our guests can cycle into town via the bike/pedestrian path, which only takes 10 minutes. Some of our guest opt to walk the 3 km into town. We hope to welcome you back to Planula one day soon. Tim and Wandy
