As a family we have enjoyed our staying in The hotel . Near by the metro, good quality breakfast included, cleaning standard was good, and the room size is excellent. And the price was very reasonable.
Definitely going back again!
The hotel staff were very pleasant, the area was very safe (had no hesitation walking to it at 12:30 at night) there are 2 subways within easy walking distance. The room has a kitchen and with a grocery store less than a block away which can really save on restaurant costs. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The nearby park is a real gem. Loved the waterfall there and the view from the center "island" is great. Only small thing is outside of the park there is no tourist traps nearby, but the nearby subways makes this hardly an issue.
Great hotel! I stayed there for a weekend with my partner. The hotel location is great, allows easy access to all the major tourist attractions. The metro station is a minute away from the hotel. There are quite a few cafés , restaurants, bakeries, fast food and shops next to the hotel. The rooms was clean, with all the needed facilities. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. Overall i am incredibly happy with the stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. If I will come to Paris again in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to pick this hotel again. Great stay.
We spent trouble free three nights from Friday in early September. The room was just the right size for a couple with two carryon bags. Good lighting, mini fridge, remote control flat panel tv, open storage with a few hangers, comfortable beds, controllable A/C, a chair and a couple of small tables were pluses. The bathroom did not disappoint us. No Peephole on the door is a minus. A guest knocked on the door to enter. After a few exchanges of words, we opened only to find she was lost. She did apologize when she found out it was not her or her friend's room. We made use of the free hotel safe with individual lockers of about 3x8x12 inches with separate keys. Breakfast of 15 euros is dearer than other 3 star hotels in the vicinity. We used the McDonalds round the corner. We also had a very tasty roasted corn on the cob from a hawker nearby. The
staff were friendly and helpful and full of knowledge about the Parisian sights and the transport. They also looked after our luggage after we checked out as our Eurostar back to London was at 6.15 pm on Monday. So after checking out, we visited the Galaries Lafayette, lunched there and came back to the hotel for a bit of rest on sofas on the first floor lobby. We even had iced water from the rest and the use of the very nice clean toilet. I think we would definitely use this hotel again and recommend to others.
Location and price are excellent. English is not spoken at the front desk (at least by the night crew). We had a 4 bed room and it was VERY SMALL. The 4th bed rolls out from under another and it didn't have sheets on it. I had to go ask for sheets (using google translate since English wasn't understood) and then make up the bed myself. I would stay again since the price was good for a very convenient location. Just understand the rooms are very small
Maybe it was the word "Express" as part of Holiday Inn that meant our expectations were not too high. We chose hotel for its location on the Canal but again we were not sure what to expect of an area of Paris that we had not visited before.
However... from Riquet Metro station the Hotel was just a 5 minute back street walk away and the approach to the hotel itself opened out on the Canal de la Villette with a fresh open Parisienne feel to it. Boats docked in the small canal harbour added to the positive atmosphere, locals sitting and enjoying the waterfront.
Hotel staff welcoming, English spoken, rooms varied in size between the 3 parties that we were, with good use of space and at least one window overlooking the water.
Breakfast included, a nice spacious breakfast area, never crowded on either of our 3 mornings, hot buffet available, plenty of staff around to help and replenish a good choice of food.
Quite a few local corner bars to choose from, sitting both inside and outside depending on our mood, food and drink typical of London prices, bar staff helpful and again English spoken and understood. One or two nice restaurants locally and alongside the Canal with views overlooking the water.
A tranquil and convivial setting that we would happily re-visit and recommend
This hotel was located literally 10 feet away from a Metro stop (Ourcq) which was probably what made it such a nice stay for us. We are college students and only wanted a place to rest our heads for the night. The bed was comfy. The room was very clean. The bathroom was nice and also clean. It also came with a kitchen, fridge and cooking utensils which make it a really great place to stay for a week visit and to save some money on eating out. The price was really great for us as well. I'm very surprised that it was as nice as it was for the price we were paying.
The metro system is very quick (feels quicker than London) and we were able to get to wherever we wanted very easily.
There is also a really great and authentic restaurant just down the street called Le Brasier des Ternes. The waiters were very friendly, it's very cozy and has great French food!
The only unusual thing about the hotel was that the reception was closed on Sundays so when we checked out we had to leave our key in a box. It just seemed a little bit strange because what if we had had a problem with the room or anything on that day. Luckily we didn't so it really was overall a great visit and place to stay.
