As a family we have enjoyed our staying in The hotel . Near by the metro, good quality breakfast included, cleaning standard was good, and the room size is excellent. And the price was very reasonable.
Definitely going back again!
I haven't really anything negative to say about this hotel. If I had to come up with one criticism it would be that the bags are not kept behind reception, but rather are kept in a separate room which the staff at reception buzz open for you, where you go in and deposit your back yourself. I don't really like the idea of other guests at the hotel being able to go into that room and rummage through other guests' bags, but there is a camera in there so that put me at ease.
The room is nice and clean, the balcony was a nice addition too. The staff are friendly enough, and I didn't encounter any rudeness. It's not a 5 star hotel, but I didn't expect that for what they are charging.
A good hotel for the money you pay, and I would use it again.
The hotel is in need of moderation - indeed work has started, which caused a little disturbance. For a superior double room, it was very small and bathroom was cramped; when you opened the bathroom door, it hit the toilet, and there were signs of damage. Breakfast was disappointing - no baguettes! Hot drinks were from machines, so rarely hot, and there was little fresh fruit. TV in the bedroom was not easy to operate, and limited channels.
Location and price are excellent. English is not spoken at the front desk (at least by the night crew). We had a 4 bed room and it was VERY SMALL. The 4th bed rolls out from under another and it didn't have sheets on it. I had to go ask for sheets (using google translate since English wasn't understood) and then make up the bed myself. I would stay again since the price was good for a very convenient location. Just understand the rooms are very small
Stayed at the holiday inn express during April 2015 for 2 nights. Various encounters with staff at the front desk who always helped and obliged to our needs. Nice location with the canal, and shops nearby. Several metro stops nearby to get around Paris and our choice of metro stop was Stalingrad which was the furtherest from the hotel but a very pleasent walk along the canal to get to and less stairs as we had a pushchair for our little one.
Pocket Guide: Paris Buttes Chaumont - La Villette Hotels
Formerly home to the Parisian stockyards, top attraction of this north-eastern residential and commercial district is Parc de la Villette, a huge urban theme park and science museum with lots for children. Belleville’s whimsical Parc des Buttes-Chaumont and the Bassin de la Villette canal (boat trips) provide other distractions.
