The bed was very very comfortable, and so was the chair in my room. The dials in the shower were a little bit confusing and I didn't like the fact the TV automatically came on at 7am. I got out of bed, unplugged it and went back to bed. I was a little disappointed there wasn't any diabetic option for the sugar in my room.
But all in all, I would definately recommend this hotel as I think the price paid was really good and I had a really comfortable night's sleep.

Check in was a breeze, room was clean, good thermostatic shower, clean towels, comfortable bed. It is a basic sort of place perfect for a bloke on a budget who likes a generous fry up in the morning. The German Sheppard dog is timid and old looking but could put some people off. The pub was lively but not too noisy for me, I had no problem getting to sleep (in room5) with people still out in the beer garden below. Its location was perfect for me; equal walking distance between the town centre and the best pub in East Anglia (The Dove), that otherwise would have been a trek from somewhere nearer the station. I would recommend it to my mates, and I will stay there next time I go to Bury. I wouldn’t recommend it to a family with kids as there are more suitable expensive family orientated places in town. As others have said, it could do with some decoration if you are into that sort of thing, but I went to Bury to spend time in the town, not appraise the carpeting in the rooms above a pub. It’s not a luxury, it is just great value. I was really happy with my stay at The Black Boy.
Was staying here, room only as we were at a wedding at the next junction. Very close to A14 but could not hear it from our room. Sainsbury is at the next roundabout for a breakfast for those who want a cheap stay.
"Loved the Hotel setting and staff were exceptional"
Our room was lovely, very spacious, quiet and really comfortable. The hotel itself is lovely and has a lot to offer, not least a quiet drawing room and other spaces to sit and relax. The staff were very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Had a treatment at the Spa which was wonderful and we went on the seven mile cycle route using the hotel bikes which was really good - lovely scenery and interesting route. Plenty to do in the grounds walking and cycling. It is a family hotel and felt very welcoming to everyone - very easy going and high standards.
Stayed for just the one night, a Saturday, as working locally over the weekend. Having read the previous customer comments, I was slightly worried what I would find, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Manager was very polite and efficient, the room, although small, was perfectly adequate for the one night and came complete with a large TV and nice en-suite. Bed was comfortable and room was clean and ladybird free! The breakfast was fantastic. I chose Eggs Benedict which was very tasty and fresh.
I struggle with some of the other reviewers expectations of The Grange. You get what you pay for and I can only speak as I find - which was it was great and does exactly what it says on the can. I will return again next year...

Most relaxing stay on the first leg of our honeymoon. Set in beautiful Suffolk countryside, breath taking views. The double room and en suite was luxurious and top quality. Enjoyed relaxing breakfast in the lovely country garden. Could not have asked for a better location and setting.
A very pleasant hotel with friendly staff, comfortable rooms and excellent food. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in which had real ground coffee, and Redbush tea in the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel
