Stayed here for a river trip. Room was clean but beds were very hard and uncomfortable and pillows flat and hard. Walls very thin. Could clearly hear the conversation in the next room. This would not be my first choice on a return trip

hotel with a view

Posted 25-Sep-2014
Pros: It had a special meaning for us
Cons: The bed pillow size and a few more towels in the bathroom
Location: The hotel is located on the Colorado River in Laughlin Nevada, on a casino strip that offers many types of entertainment for a varity of people
When checking in we were talking with the desk clerk about how we were there for a special occasion. She then told us that we could get an upgraded room with a view. We chose the upgrade and was not disappointed. Our stay was wonderful

Great hotel, not so good for parking

Posted 23-Sep-2014
We were very pleased with our overall experience at the Aquarius. The hotel looks fresh, has a lot of options for dining on site, plenty of gaming area, the room was clean and fresh. Air conditioning was great, kept room nice and cold for us. Shower was good, water pressure excellent. Toilet location is tight, should have made the countertop a little narrower and gave some more space for using the toilet without feeling crammed into the wall. The boat/large vehicle check in parking area is nice...the only saviour for the abysmal location and setup for the actual boat/large vehicle parking area. The lot is a maze, and you better know your turning radius or you'll be jumping curbs. My only real gripe about our experience was the boat parking. Had to park across the street and far from the hotel. If you had a jet ski trailer, your golden...they get a special reserved area that's not too bad to get to, except for being chained off which requires you to exit the main lot and re-enter the jet ski lot. Labrynth of a parking lot. Everything else was a-ok. One other thing...great buffet..wouldn't have minded the steeper adult prices (get the free ace-club card they offer for a discount), but no kids pricing available??? Who does that? $23.99 for my 4 year old daughter to eat a bananna, a rib, and a small piece of cake. That my friends, is stupid. Offer children's pricing or kids eat free with a paid adult or some kind of break for the young ones.

Much better than it looks

Although the corridors are dated, the rooms are well worth the money! Amazing views, clean, large rooms and all the touches you could want.

Good choice for the area

Posted 22-Sep-2014
Pros: Food at the coffee shop was very good. View of the river was also good.
Cons: Desk personnel were unreliable. Promised but did not deliver.
Location: River recreation, gaming and golf.
At check-in the desk person pressed us hard to "upgrade" to a room with a view of the Colorado River, which we did. Got to the room and it was WARM. Put up with it that night and stopped by the desk in the morning to let them know. They said they'd have maintenance check it, got back to the room that afternoon and it was still hot. Called the desk and they said they'd have someone check it "again". Maintenance showed up and said they never got the first call. They couldn't fix the problem so we had to change rooms. Maintenance was excellent, very helpful. The front desk was unreliable.

NOT a big winner

Posted 22-Sep-2014
The staff was great but the building needs an update. Working in the hospitality industry myself I might be a little harder of a judge than most but I should never see water stained lamp shades in a guest room and the public space carpet should not be dirtier than parking lot. I guess you get what you pay for.

Not the best

Posted 22-Sep-2014
The room could have been cleaner and the hallways need a good vacuum. The pool rules are not followed. We had our young children with us and wanted to use the pool, but people were drinking inside the pool. There was no one supervising and it became a non child friendly pool. My husband and I repeatedly asked a waitress for drinks when playing on the slot machine and she never came.

Front Desk Check in

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Pros: Loved the casino atmosphere. Cocktail services was one it - although the beers were not cold when we got them but enjoyable nonetheless.
Cons: Offer free use of refrigerators for the rooms.
Location: We enjoyed the Aquarius and did not really leave to see other properties. We did go to the riverside to play bingo and that was it.
Check into the hotel around 8:30pm or 9:00pm. Absolutely no one in line but us - Front Desk agent was not welcoming and very mechanical in her interaction with us. Upon checking into our room 7114 room was clean and comfortable; however there was a hole in the bathroom wall and hair on the ceiling of the bathroom. We called just to report the damaged door so not to be charged for it. The agent that answered the call never offered an apology but did offer to me us which we declined to do. The river tour was enjoyable.

Awesome!

Everyone was friendly! Those from the buffet to the casino to the security guards personalities to the people cleaning the rooms. Great job!
