“Great Buffalo Gem”

Unique, full service boutique hotel in restored grand mansion. Staff and services were most accommodating on our two separate stays. Complimentary car service made getting around (especially in bad weather) very easy and pleasant.

“Excellent service!”

This property was once a single-family mansion that was converted into a hotel about 9 years ago. The hotel is beautiful and our room (a suite) was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. But by far the best part of our experience was the service. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Complementary valet parking and car service. Complementary drinks in lovely parlor during happy hour. Honor bar available at other times. Complementary breakfast buffet. (We didn't have time to dine, but it looked great.) We usually like staying in Ritz Carltons because of the quality of the service. I would put the service at this hotel a notch above the Ritz.

“Would ask for a different room.”

The hotel staff was friendly but not very formal. When we arrived in our suite, we found the room layout to be odd and not very luxurious for the price. We did not ask to be relocated to a different room but would ask that we never be in that dreary room for future visits. Local transportation is provided by the staff and is very helpful for dining in Buffalo. The evening cocktails were also a nice touch. Will go back to The Mansion when in Buffalo again but will ask for a fireplace room on our next visit since they are spacious, bright and cheerful rooms.

Area recommendations
Delaware Avenue has plenty of fine dining available and is a nice area to explore.
Dining
Tempo Restaurant on Delaware Avenue was a great place for dinner. The food was very good, except the lobster risotto was not properly salted and lacked taste.
