“Central location, great for spoting events and bars”
Cannot complain at all about the hotel! Very central location, walking distance to the hockey rink & baseball field, as well as Chippewa St. for the bars. Friendly staff, and the restaurant downstairs is very decent for breakfast. Solid place to stay in Buffalo!!
“BIG DISAPOINTMENT”
STRONGLY FEEL THIS IS WEAKEST HOTEL I HAVE VISITED WITHIN THE HYATT BRAND. STAFF AND LOBBY / EXTERIOR NORMAL BUT ROOM, HALLWAY, POOL SUB PAR. AVAILABLE PARKING PRICING MISLEADING. MAY BE CONNECTED TO CONVENTION CENTER,BUT OTHERWISE SURROUNDING NEIGHBOURHOOD IS POOR/ALMOST SEEDY. 3 ELEVATORS VERY VERY SLOW AT ALL TIMES OF DAY. CLEANING STAFF VERY PLEASANT AND SMILING.
“can't wait for the remodel”
The hotel looks and feels dated, it needs to put effort into the obberall look, like pictures in the coridors and maybe some occassional tables, this let the whole experience down. The hotel is clean, pleasant and the food is fine, but the feel of the hotel was dated..no fans in the bathrooms, no minibars, it did not have free wifi and in this day and age it should if you are staying there. The vending machines on our floor gave you the wrong drink to the button your pressed..I tried three times, but they worked and were full, so it is down to the attitude of the staff. I would stay there again, but am happy to look at embassy suites as well. It did not feel like a Hyatt
“Not bad”
Kind of pricey for an older hotel but the service was good and the location is great. The lack of mini bar is simply stunning in 2011 but apparently they are getting them soon.
“great hotel”
We loved this hotel. The room was very comfortable with great bedding. The atrium was bright and inviting and breakfast buffet offered everything anyone could want. There is not much in the area, but the proximity to HSBC wass the draw for us. We walked to the center, and could have taken the trolley but it was a nice night so the 10 minute walk was no problem. Very friendly staff. There is a cost for parking.
“loved it!”
We loved our stay at the Hyatt, if we hadn't gotten the deal on Expedia though, we probably wouldn't have been able to afford it. It was such an enjoyable stay!
“Dirty Sheets and Awful Neighborhood”
I booked a King room and when I checked in at 3 p.m. I was told there were no kings ready and there wouldn't be one ready for a few hours! They put me into a double/double room. One of the sheets was extremely dirty with tan stains every where. Luckily I brought my own blanket and slept on the other bed. Went out to look for lunch and ended up at a very seedy "mall" filled with bums and the contents of the village of the damned. Clutched my purse the whole way home. Very disappointed. However, the meeting I was at was at this hotel and there was a lack of other suitable hotels in the area.
“I love Buffalo”
Don't believe any rumours you have ever heard about Buffalo - it is a fun and interesting city. The Hyatt is everything you would expect from a Hyatt and close to the action.

“Great hotel in the heart of Buffalo”
We booked this hotel with Expedia Unpublished Rates, which meant we didn't know where we were staying until we paid up front and it was a pleasant surprise when we saw it was the Hyatt Regency. It is right downtown and conveniently close to the border and major highways, and although it is some distance to the major shopping centers they are easily accessible. Contrary to what I had read in some previous reviews, without exception the hotel staff were excellent and every one of them went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our stay. The valet parking was very convenient and the drivers extremely helpful, offering tips on directions, shopping, and restaurants. Our room was a little tight with four of us sharing two double beds but it was clean and nicely decorated. Even though they were small, the beds were comfortable. The bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated so it was sparkling but there was a minor plumbing problem with the bathtub not draining. We asked for extra towels and they were delivered very quickly by another very pleasant staff member. We visited the indoor pool which was small but clean with lots of patio furniture but there was no water in the pool showers. Overall, we were very happy with our first stay at the Hyatt Regency. The minor inconveniences we experienced were completely overshadowed by the helpful and courteous staff, and we will certainly stay at the Hyatt next time we are in Buffalo.
