“Great overall hotel in heart of BA”

Great location safe area. Hotel staff friendly. Breakfast great. Room a little tired but spacious and clean. Stayed 8 days in total on 2 occasions, both times we found hotel excellent.

Family-friendly activities

When you travel with children to Buenos Aires you must visit Parque de la Costa at Tigre neighborhood, the Zoo, and Japaneese Gardens, and Planetario all located in Palermo. Also you can visit Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales located at Chacarita, and if you and your children enjoy reading you cannot leave Buenos Aires before you visit El Ateneo bookstore located inside an old Barrocan theatre at Av. Santa Fe.

“Mediocre Hotel”

There are a lot of mid priced hotels in this part of Buenos Aires, and I'm sure we could have picked better. The front desk staff was courteous but rather clueless about goings on in town. The two rooms we booked were cheaply furnished and one smelled of cigarette smoke. The kitchens were very functional and well equipped. Only one of the two rooms had the printed hotel materials, mini bar menu etc. Even after four days, this hadn't been fixed. Breakfast was a decent spread each morning.

Traveller's tip

The area around this hotel, known as Retiro, is not the greatest part of BA after dark. Narrow streets, not lots of restaurants. La Recoleta, Puerto Madero and Palermo have way more going on.
