“Didnt even want to leave the room!”

I was so happy to have found the hotel that not was 5 starts for me, but the concierge and people who worked there gave us a great welcoming to Buenos Aires!, For sure would love to go back and I recomend it for others visiting Palermo in Buenos Aires!, everything is walcable and at the hotel you have wifi for free *something you dont see at some hotels. But definetly if you dont find it on the internet the concierge will help you with it.

Getting around
always make sure that the taxi driver has the meter going from the moment you get in, and try to have exact change *if possible ask before getting on the cab, how much is going to be for the ride. If the cab driver charges you too much from the airport to hotel, always go to the hotel and tell them before you pay, they will assist you!

“iViva Esplendor!”

Esplendor Hollywood was amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were super modern, clean and comfortable. Food was good. Location was great as well : Palermo is where it'S at...great neighborhood to discover. Walk around the tree-lined streets and you'll find a gorgeous and delicious restaurant at every corner. Taxis are available anytime and Subte stations are near. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

“Modern boutique hotel with spacious rooms”

The boutique hotel is small, but has great service. The rooms are very modern and spacious with a balcony. Concierge is very accommodating and explained every detail in getting around to places. The area is a bit outside of the main city attractions, so its quiet, but the metro is located just 4 blocks away and takes only about 10-15 min. to get into the main city area. The hotel has WiFi and also a free computer to use downstairs.. They also have another Esplendor (soho) hotel in the downtown area, which is more centrally located to all the main sight seeing areas. Overall a great hotel and good value.

Area recommendations
La Boca - Tango City. Such a vibrant, colorful neighborhood with the most scintillating graffiti. San Telmo - Antiques market. Even if you don't like antiques, you will enjoy San Telmo. This area is captivating, with its salon styled French flair restaurants and the antiques just bring back such nostalgia. They also have stores that are modern and carry a variety of interesting little things. Unfortunatley , I missed the antiques flea market on Sundays, where I heard is a whole street fair with live music. Retiro - Old money (Vanderbilt like) neighborhood. Here is where they derive the connotation "Paris of South America". You will forget you are in Argentina while walking this area. Puerto Madero - New money neighborhood revived from an old port industrial area. Here you will think you are in Battery Park or Tribecca in NY. Tall new commercial and residential buildings. Big parks and lots of hip new cafes and restaurants. It sits along side a river that has a bridge connecting to the other side. Buenos Aires is a great, beautiful city. Extend further into the old Palermo neighborhood and you will see their version of embassy row, which is a beautiful quiet area to walk around, where all the embassies emboss different architecture. Recoleta - NIce parks to sit and relax. They also have a whole area of vendors, great place to buy all the souvenirs you need.
When to go
November is a good time to go. Not too hot about 75-80 F, occasional rain, but mostly bright sunny days.
Getting there
If you are transferring and have a long lay over, avoid Sao Paolo Brazil's airport. I was stuck at Sao Paolo's airport for 4 hrs, and there is barely anything to shop or eat there. Shops and restaurants are bare minimum. I also had a stopover in Santiago, Chile's airport which to my surprise had Dunkin Donuts, Ruby Tuesday's (with a large flat screen showing ESPN) and a Starbucks, although also a very small international airport. And no matter what you hear, US citizens do not need a visa if you are TRANSFERRING through Brazil, the key is you are not leaving the transit area. Alot of ticketing agents think even if you are transferring you need a visa. That's why I was rerouted through Chile on my way there, but I thought I'd take the chance going back through Brazil and it was fine.
Getting around
The metro is a good way, but Buenos Aires is a huge city, and the metro is not at every corner. Taxi's are fast, cheap and convenient. The taxi drivers are quite honest, you just need to have an address or point to a map of where you need to go. The bus is quite difficult if you don't understand Spanish or know where the routes or stops are. Though if you do manage to go to the bus website, they have quite a detailed route line spelled out, indicating the which streets they stop on, but not the exact bus stop location.
Must see
Since BA is such a large city, the best way to see the city is the Hop on-Hop off city tour bus. Best to purchase tickets online at their government operated website (its also the best value compared to the other high priced private tour buses), as they have a headcount of how many people can go on the bus at each interval, even if you see the bus is half full. I assume they have to account for other people getting on the bus at different stops. There's always a lot of tourists there. The city bus is a great experience, it is efficiently operated and a very effective method to see the whole city and its different neighborhoods.

“great staff!!”

Our stay was awesome. We arrived there very early in the morning, and the staff didn't hesitate to let us in even though we were supposed to check in at noon. So that was a great start. The hotel is very modern and very convenient, it is located really close to a subway station, and at nights, the surrounding area is full of bars, nice restaurants and stuff. The hotel staff was AMAZINGLY good to us, they showed us how to go everywhere, and everything we needed was just a call away, they sent us to an amazing tango show(we payed for it), but i mean they would plan a whole evening for us in a second, so it was great.

Area recommendations
I loved the central area of buenos aires, also the recoletta and la boca which is like the most colorful neighborhood in buenos aires. I would really recommend to take a city tour first, so you can go back to the places that interest you the more.
When to go
we were there during july so it was a COLD winter, i think it must be nicer during the summer.
Dining
i loved a pizzeria near to the hotel, Romario's...they served AMAZING pizza and the traditional empanadas!
Events and shows
we went to a tango show which included a great dinner and a tango dance class! complejo tango was the name of the place, they came and picked us up at the hotel, so it was very convenient.

“cheap, chic, and well located”

The hotel was incredibly clean and organized. the rooms were large and comfortable. the hotel is located in a great spot: close to the metro stop in that neighborhood, and near some great eclectic restaurants and bars (the renowned peruvian/japanese fusion restaurant osaka is just across the street). the staff was friendly and spoke english. the free breakfast was simple but fresh and delicious. there are also safes in the room which is nice. we had a king size room and the bed was ENORMOUS and the rooms are very swanky. the hotel is currently adding on another wing so they must be doing well. it felt very safe as well as you needed your hotel key to enter the hotel and also to navigate the hotel to your floor.

“Very Comfortable and well-located Hotel”

We were only at this hotel briefly before an early morning flight. The neighbourhood is good, although there is a lot of building work going on in the area so it could possibly get noisy at times. The room was lovely and big with a very comfortable bed and a flat screen TV showing cable TV, including English language channels. The bathroom was also well appointed. We didn't eat at the hotel, so can't comment on their breakfast. Overall, this would be a good base for exploring the Palermo area, including the range of restaurants in this suburb.

“Friendliest staff, Great Value”

The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly . They were absolutely amazing and we bugged them alot!! They were super patient and answered every question graciously and with ease. They had a recommendation and assistance for everything. The hotel room was awesome, very comfortable, clean and new. The A/C could have been a little better, but it was still sufficient. The room was decorated well, and the bed was HUGE and very comfy! I would absolutely recommend this hotel to people who want to be in the Palermo Hollywood area. I think this area will be built up over the next few years and will be even better. Also, saw that this hotel is expanding next door. Highly Recommended!!
