“The hotel website is deceiving”

First of all, the pictures on their website are deceiving. The hotel is very run down. Upon check-in, we were greeted by the maids who did not speak English. They were very nice, but my Spanish sucks and the hotel claimed to have English speaking desk staff. Since they don't have 24 hour desk workers, I was unable to inquire about the hotel's services at that time. I chose to stay here because they claimed to offer spa services. THEY DID NOT! The owner told me that Argentina was a very religious country so no one would be available to give massages at any time during my stay. I also emailed to schedule spa appointments before I arrived, but never received a response. The spa is the only reason I chose this hotel over Recoleta. The hotel also claims to have many other services like room service, currency exchange, wine tasting, etc. There's no room service or currency exchange; they couldn't even provide change in Argentine pesos after charging me $40pesos for 24 hrs of wifi. Housekeeping leaves the doors and windows open during and after cleaning the rooms, with no regard for the security of the guest's belongings. You have to wait for someone to open the front door. I also read a TripAdvisor review from earlier in the year that complained about "breakfast buffet" pictures on their website being deceptive. The owner, responded that they now offered scrambled eggs and omelettes, THIS IS UNTRUE. The breakfast still consists of rolled up ham and cheese and bread.

“Nothing to complain about, could be better...”

It was a nice place in a safe and nice part of Buenos, but i for the price i expected it to be alittle nicer.

Area recommendations
The Grafitti tour is awsome and you can really get some great pictures. Mondays there is a drum show that is out of this world called La Bomba. About an he our of the city there is a petting zoo with lions, tigers, elephants etc. it was the best thing i have ever done, its call Lujan Zoo or something like that. Any and all resturantes are great. Thursdays there is a hip hop club called lost that is also a great time.

“Highly recommended”

I stayed 9 nights at the excellent Baucis Boutique Hotel in Palermo Hollywood, a lovely location with many bars and restaurants nearby and only a short taxi ride away from the other areas of interest in Buenos Aires. The owner/managers are very welcoming, so I felt totally relaxed from the start. In fact all the staff are friendly and helpful. The taxi I had prebooked through the hotel was there at the airport to meet me. Also they booked the tango show for me. You only had to ask and they would help. My room was clean, comfortable and very quiet. I stayed in a superior room with shower. It was in need of some minor redecoration. The superior rooms are worth the extra. Breakfast was self-serve buffet with a good choice. A freshly made omelette/ scrambled eggs is prepared individually for each guest. All in all a delightful stay. Baucis Boutique Hotel is highly recommended.

Palermo. Plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance, safe at night, streets with houses and no high-rise blocks, nice architecture, good for young people, vibrant atmosphere, good location being near other main areas of the city

“highly disappointed”

Poor interior level of rooms.showers in horrendus condition. staff was nice, but not nearly enough to make up for all the rest. by far the greatest disappointment I ever had with an expedia recommendation.

Comment from the hotel's management
We are really sorry about your experience. Baucis is a small boutique hotel in Palermo, in a historic house of 1940. The feeling is a private residence and people who likes getting inside porteño culture, learn to tango, and try Argentine wines, enjoy the place very much. Some of the rooms on this month have been partially renovated. And breakfast has improved substantially as we have an excellent new cooker who does omelets, scrambled eggs and pancakes every morning...you should try her apple pie or brownies. We look forward to receiving you again.

“Excellent Location”

Small boutique hotel (is not the usual major U.S. chain hotel), great location, walking distance to restaurants, bars, shopping etc. Small rooms but very clean and the front desk staff is great. They serve breakfast, juices, coffee, croissants etc in the lobby every morning which is great bonus before you head out. Did I mention the front staff is great!?, well they own and run the hotel so they really take care of their customers.

“Good and affordable hotel”

I was really surprised by this hotel, people are very nice and kind. Rooms are confortable, clean and well decorated. The region is nice, althought is far away from the city centre. If you are looking for a convenient hotel for shopping, you should look in other areas rather than Palermo. The hotel area is safe and pleasant. Looks of restaurants and cafes. Nice option, good price.

“Good hotel”

It is a very good hotel for the price you are paying. The location is very good, with many restaurants and bars around. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and big. The only problem I found is that I could hear noises from the next door room.
